$5k markup though. There are too many places offering no markup to consider paying more than MSRP.

They can always offer less. Worst they can do is say no.

Almost every dealer is adding markup now because of the whole chip shortage thing.

The fact that you think that means 2 things: you're not willing to travel outside of your city, or you're too lazy to call up dealers lol... just in my state alone there are at least 5 dealers (that I've personally checked) that per parent company policy are not allowed to add any mark ups aka worst you're ever gonna get is msrp.

You're absolutely right. My problem is that they usually do say no and therefore it's not worth trying.

While true, that's not the root cause. Greed is.

Yep cheap shortage have been happening since late 2020, and it'll take at least two more years to recover.

No M driver's package, getting an M5 with a 155mpg top speed is just pointless. Setting yourself up for failure.

LCI ECUs have not been broken in yet, so can't tune it. And tuning is voiding the warranty, so once again setting yourself up for failure. I've tuned cars before, but I'd NEVER buy any tuned car, so keeping it stock means selling it stock is a win, especially one of the greats in these hard times when cars are not plenty and are extremely limited is the smart choice. Thrice again setting yourself up for failure.
