The BMW CA actually said to me “WHAT?! You’ve never launched it?! Do you want to go and do that before we do the deal?” So he went with me to show me some spots to do it, and we launched it a couple of times! Lol I do plan to launch the F90–at least a few times—before I ever part ways with it! This time I’m gonna make it happen. |

So I have been launching my car since I got it. I'm sure I'm over 2-300 launches over all. I had evolve stage 2 tcu tune but couldn't get any better than 2.7 but finally had to dish out more for a tcu stage 3 upgrade from utku noa at evolve and let me tell you what a difference it has made? So far only one launch and I did 2.68 finally, overall car feels like a rocket. My friend sat with me on a normal drive and he felt like his heart sunk when I pressed the gas half way from 3rd gear. I would strongly recommend stage 3 tcu tune from utku noa/ evolve as it has elevated the driving experience for me.

This is this morning, my previous best was 10.17 once and in 10.2s mostly. Had an ok launch as it was little wet so some traction loss. 2.69 0-60 I think but I run 345/30-20 4s. Also dragy slope is BS same place everything and slope is off by 1 degree most of the time. Also they haven't cracked new ecus yet.

I posted almost an identical issue been having with my Tuned M8....
https://f92.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1#post27629941 The only difference though is that I can assure you 1000% that I never came close to 100 Launches... at most most ... I've most likely launched the CAR like 22 times in the past few month. |

Hi. I have a 2018 M5C with a Remus cat back and stage 1 tune for 93 Octane map.
I’ve only done 5 launches but I’ve noticed that when the car warms up properly, with the transmission in the sportiest setting (3), it doesn’t crack any more on the shift, it’s actually shifting like in the middle setting (2). Do you think I’ve damaged something in the gearbox or might be facing some premature wear of some sort? Maybe I should look at getting the TCU reset or something? Has anybody else faced anything similar? I don’t really care about engaging LC anymore but would hate losing the good shifts. |

The LC is 'limited' because BMW wants to prevent premature wear on the ZF transmission. The transmission is coded to completely forget how to launch from factory after the 100 launches. BMW actually said this. There's a link in a forum somewhere. They'll never truly admit it though. After that, launch control still works, but there will be a noticeable difference. You can get it back by taking the ECU to be tuned. |

You can't restore the ZF's QS3 mode through ECU tuning, at least no tune that I know of—can you cite a source? The speculation is that a TCU tune will restore QS3. |

It is definitely an experience. I recently launched mine for the first time, just for educational purposes you understand. Lovely warm day, around 20", warm tyres etc. Got set up, saw the flag, let the brake go, and boom !!, what just happened ?.
It felt to me, like my brain was spinning around in my skull, for the first few tenths of seconds, and when you regain full sensory perception again, you are travelling at proper speeds. Not sure id fancy doing it away from the lights, to prove a point to somebody. Fantastic fun though. |
