It all depends on the engine specs, But its is much more easier to gain power from a turbo setup over a Na setup. On average you can boost 30 % more power to a stock engine. So i can see the M3/M4 gaining 80-100 hp from a good tune.

It would make no sense for M division to make the M3/M4 500+ hp, Because that would defeat the purpose of M5. Plus if they give you the full potential of there engines, how will they sell you a option like "Competition package".

A 500 horsepower M3 would absolutely not "defeat the purpose" of the M5. The M5 is intended to be a significantly larger, more luxurious cruiser than the M3.

With that said, non-enthusiast ///M car buyers would certainly be confused if the M3/4 produced the same 560 horsepower as the M5/6, so I wouldn't expect to see that anytime soon (or ever).

This. You KNOW they'll bump the power or do a comp pack for LCI

both too slow...

A new M3/M4 should always beat the current 911 S around Nordschleife.

Haha. I doubt it's even going to beat the Camaro or Stingray.

Once upon a time (E46) an M3 was a near supercar you could rely on as an everyday driver. Not so much either now.

I think this makes the most sense. The track focused car would seem to be the one that shines on the track. As for straight line acceleration that's different, wasn't built for that. The CSL was still faster than the E9X M3 around the ring. I bet the same will be true of this coming gen and the GTS, but of course just a guess.
