I somehow got on the wrong list. They keep sending me shit on the 7 series... They have zero chance of me buying that versus a GTS. I guess I'll just buy a GT350 and M3 instead of a GTS

My dealer got an allocation and contacted me. I put down my deposit today!

I do not know anything about the voucher stuff.

I too have an allocation (per my dealer) but seems like BMW NA is brokering the sales. Even with their allocation ( getting 5) I'm still told I need to let them know when the voucher arrives, which now will be later than initially announced. And yes, there is a BMW bulletin on this Board that explains their process.

I also heard the same about the delay, and my guy has been on point with the info since day 1

To me, this sounds like your "allocation" is meaningless. Because, in the end, no voucher, no car.

Looks like Porsche and BMW have been talking about sales schemes. Porsche does the limited quantity thing to spur demand for the brand and frustrate first time customers; looks like BMW wishes to do the same.

Update:

I went to the mailbox and checked the front door on both Friday and Saturday and there was no Magic Golden Ticket.

Since my iPhone 5S finally gave up the ghost I went to the dealer on Saturday to get a new case for the 6S and happened to see the product manager at the dealership who asked me to reach out to a friend of mine who just purchased an i8 identical to mine ( ) to give him some operational tips. Some friend. (J/K...he is an amazing guy and we discussed the purchase in detail for about an hour one evening.)

Once that debacle was over, I asked him about the selection process for the GTS and where I currently stand. He shared that in the 23 dealers that comprise this region there are no cars currently allocated and they are waiting for more information. I shared that his information may not be as accurate as he thinks because there are dealerships within 300 miles of his shop that have allocations which have been announced to individuals. He said that I definitely have brand ambassador status at the dealership and that this has been communicated to the powers-that-be.

Lastly, I imparted upon him my seriousness in acquiring the vehicle and would appreciate his help in achieving this goal.

He said that he would do all that he could to make this happen and would communicate to me weekly from this point forward.
