Best tyres?
I now need to change all 4 tyres on my F90 M5 comp. It is still on its original Pirelli 's and has managed 16000 miles on them. The go to tyre seems to be the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S but the reviews of the Continental Sport Contact 7 have surpassed the Michelin in a lot of tests. Anyone with any ideas as to the better one, its is a £1200 investment so want to get the best ones! Cheers Gordy

I'll be sticking with Michelin PS4Ss when the time comes, though as you say some rankings and reviews have them pegged lower than Perelli. The cross-brand test that EVO ran a little while back was revealing in that respect; but to be honest, there were too many variables in play beyond my own priorities (grip, road noise, and daily comfort/adaptibility), such that not enough in there would sway me to another brand, especially after doing a serious tour over all kinds of roads to Scotland this summer and given that I won't be tracking my F90 anytime soon.

Anecdotal view on this as I'm not throwing any evidence out there as to what this opinion is based on, but, having had both OE star marked Pirellis summers on 706Ms (pre-LCI, 3 sets over 30k miles) and OE star marked PS4S summers (LCI, first time, approximately 4k miles), I much prefer the Michelins and I will never get the Pirellis again.

Thanks for the info. There doesn't appear to be any all season tyres that fit, Michelin Cross Climate 2 only go as large as 275/45 R 20. So getting set of Pilot Sport 4s Star fitted. Price in UK, £1100 !
