It's the problem with Android Auto being so behind Apple CarPlay. Not BMW's fault.

The OEM vendor like BMW does not need to support many phones. It's android auto that supports the phones out of the box. If the phone is running android of a late enough version, it just works with Android Auto. The car manufacturer doesn't have to do anything.

Apple does OEM deals like this with exclusivity for a period of time. I'm in the industry - I know how they operate...

I told you BMW is working on implementing Android Auto and there are already new BMW cars with AA available in them. They are introducing it slowly, not to have major fuk ups

It's not as easy as you describe, just take it and implement the system of Android Auto in the car... I wish it was. And Android phones just running latest software also a myth, again not that easy...

I'd be happy for now with full screen Apple Carplay. Is there a way to code it or is it an Apple issue.

So might be a android auto thing as CarPlay I haven't seen any cars showing waze in hud yet.

I agree here. I think Android Auto allows it but not Apple CarPlay because they want you to use their native Apple Maps.

I tried my 2021 M5 (with the 2020 software) with both my Iphone 12 (IOs 14.6) and a Pixel 3a with the May 2021 Android update. The Pixel phone shows instructions in the HUD for both Waze and Google maps. The Iphone 12 does not. There is only works for Apple maps.

My LCI shows Waze on the HUD via Android Auto running my Samsung S9. Seems like it only works with Android Auto.

no its just the turns, its not detailed like OEM nav shows.

No issues. I have coding by kubax86 and at the same time some things coded with BimmerCode. You will be fine
