Rex Racing Forged Wheels

Just placed an order for my new wheels. Local privately held company near my home in Orange County. Cannot beat the prices and turnaround time for a fully forged wheel. Has resemblance of the BBS FI-R. Going with all satin black, including the center cap. They are able to adjust spokes, color and everything to your liking. Turnaround time is 5 weeks. Will post pictures once they arrive and are mounted!

Went with a squared setup in wheel size, as my company only produces a limited amount of tire sizes currently. different offsets keep it flush all the way around. I knew I would get some questions about that...

The price seems too low for fully forged wheels. Are these flow formed?

The base price on the website is likely for the 17x8 size. You could request a quote for the OP’s 20x10. He may receive a discount if he has a connection since he is in the tire side of the tire and wheel business.

These are not flow formed. They are fully forged and custom for each customer. I can ask if they can do a discount for Bimmerpost M5 users. They are still a new brand and are trying to get more people to give them a try.

Do they do different colors in the 102 or 104? They only show black…might like some bronze ones.

I can confirm that they can offer a discount for all forum members. The owner told me to tell any prospective buyers to use code "dcohen13", my username here. John is the owner, if anyone emails or calls.

Price for 20" fully forged custom will be roughly $3200-3500 BEFORE discount.

I hope this helps some people looking for a forged set! You can choose any face/color/specs.

Thanks!

They offer any color that you would like. Black is just the color they used on the website. They can create a custom color for you, or just use any simple paint. They are adding in blue details on mine to perfectly match my Blue M calipers.

Looks promising. I’ve inquired about a set of 102 EVO. Then deciding maybe between them and Titans

Awesome, keep us posted how it goes. Just so you are aware, I liked the R102Evo as well, but preferred the R101 flush spokes. John was able to custom alter the spokes on the Evo to tailor my look. In case you wanted any alterations on the wheel itself.

Still going to think about these vs Titans, but I got my quote:

R102Evo
F:20x10 ET20 (24lbs)
R:20x11 ET25 (25lbs)
aluminum center caps
$3465 (plus tax) shipped

Can someone tell me what the offset is on my OEM 706 wheels?

not bad at all! Your stock offset is +28 all the way around.

20x9.5 +28
20x10.5 +28

Well I thought I was going to go with Titan but have learned they are 5 months back ordered everywhere. I’m a little nervous to be honest with a new company like this being a bit of test case without any research to be had other than your local experience which puts you in a better position of problem resolution. But I like these wheels and the price plus the lead time, so still swaying a bit. Wish you had yours installed already with feedback lol!

The 102 model looks like the Titan7 TS5 so if you did bend one and Rex is no longer around, you could buy a Titan as a replacement. I usually think about replacement options when buying wheels though I have not needed one yet. The last 3 sets of wheels I bought were Apex. I have the Titans on the F90 (no Apex available), but if it will be 5 months before the next boat from China arrives, I would be inconvenienced for a while if I bent one. Fortunately, I have all seasons on my stock wheels so I could use those to drive on a matched set of wheels while I waited.

Titans are also 1 lb lighter but I guess that’s really immaterial the more I think about it. Any idea what the OEM 706 weighs in comparison? Also, remind me what size tires you’re running?

I am running 20x10 and 11. That size is well proven to fit. I forget the Titan offsets. I would have preferred 1” wider than stock rather than 1/2” but that is uncommon and likely because there could be rubbing issues. I have dealt with too wide tires and wheels on other cars and am not looking for trouble with the F90. Lighter is always good of the wheels are still strong enough. Titan seems to have a good reputation so I was not worried. I don’t recall the names/numbers of the stock wheels but know I have the heavy ones that are about 34-35 lbs each.

haha I totally understand. They just finished wheels for a Merc AMG GT and Gwagon. I get it that its new and not well known. That was Titan7 a few years ago haha!

Mine should be here in about 2-3 weeks, so I can mount and post my feedback right when they get here. Hoping for the best!

These in a 20” setup would be a killer winter wheel setup!!!

What wheel style is this?

this is a 20" for my 2019 M5 Comp! They made these custom for me. I blended two of their styles. I liked how the spokes on their R101 went flush to the wheel lip, but I liked the hollow "weight saving holes" of the R102. The owner blended the two for me, no extra charge. Fully customizable and endless color options. Let me know if interested! They are doing discounts for us forum members.

Also, if you like any other wheel style, they can make a fully custom design for you. Working with them on a wheel for my G Wagon as a mesh design.

I sent an inquiry on the website. I am definitely interested. I do like this style you have but would want a brushed finish. I have not heard back.

Did you do staggered offsets with 10” wide wheels or just a straight square setup?

I will message the owner, John to make sure to reach out to you. I went with a custom squared setup. I work for a tire company, and are slightly limited on sizes. I am going to run a 275/35/20 squared, 20x10". I played with the offsets, to make it flush. Pretty much mirrored all the staggered fitments, but accomodated for the 10" and moved the offsets:

Front: 20x10" +22
Rear: 20x10" +17
