Mobil 1 OEM 0-30 Oil Specs

Tried posting this in the Maintenance subforum but did not receive any answers, so hoping somebody can advise on the following:

For those of you using Mobil 1 oil, which specific 0-30 W Oil are you using? For example does it need to be dexos 2? A part number or model number would be appreciated. Also, if there are any great places to get that oil, any leads would be appreciated.

I usually like to change the oil in filter at 500 miles just as a precaution.

Thank you very much!

Any oil that is compatible with BMW Long-Life-01FE will work. Mobil 1 doesn't have any 0w-30 in US that meet those specifications. And 500 miles oil change interval without tracking the car is unnecessary I would say, maybe you can increase to 3000 miles.

Yes, discovered the no Mobil 1 products currently in US conclusion yesterday, and returned the oil today! I am at 650mi now, so half way to break-in service anyway.

If anyone finds a Shell, Pennzoil, etc. applicable oil, please let me know.

Thanks!

I used to be a Mobil 1 user for many years. With all the different additives and specs from BMW, I have decided to just stick with what BMW recommends and just do my own oil changes halfway through the recommended BMW intervals. I just did that and sent a sample to Blackstone Labs and they recommended changing the oil every 6,500 miles.
