863Ms on my car!

Picked up a set of basically new wheels here on the forum which came with basically new tires. After spending a couple days ceramic coating them I finally mounted to car.

One hiccup is that the tires are 275/30/20 front and 285/30/20 rear, so they’re about an inch shorter in height than OEM with the 35 aspect ratio. Have to decide if I want to adjust my springs lower (have MP HAS on the car) to fill the larger gap and also figure out how much harsher it makes the ride.

Anyway! Here are some pics! Have always loved these wheels and am very excited to have them.

Very nice car. I considered purchasing the 863 but did not manage.

I’m not generally a huge fan of these wheels, but they just work with your exterior color!

Looks fantastic on your car. Enjoy!

Thanks all.

Car feels way more nimble and quicker with the forged wheels. Can the lighter weight make that much difference or is it all in my head? Either way it’s pretty fun.

OP Great looking wheels.

Word of warning, with smaller tyres, your speedo will be reading incorrectly and it may affect other stuff on the M5 too, not sure how the xDrive will take it, probably fine as they match front and back.

Thanks for warning. pbonsalb also explained this to me in another thread and I’ve reviewed those calculators.

Surprisingly I have found when I use Waze (which I use all the time) that the speedo on the app continues to match what the car speedo reads and I think Waze is calculating it independently via GPS.

Once I put the tires on I did go into idrive and select “other” among the tires selections. After that the car went through some kind of reset process that required driving that I thought was related to the TPMS but maybe somehow also addressed the speedometer? Not clear to me.

Car has been happy and driving great for maybe a couple hundred miles so far. It feels amazing, like a different car. Can’t tell if it’s the wheels or smaller tires or what but feels like the car is dramatically lighter and more nimble.
