Battery connection
Hi All
just after a bit of advice / confirmation... I know how to connect and disconnect a battery properly, negative first when removing and negative last when installing... bla bla... However when reconnecting the battery the last couple of times, it does create a big spark each time. I know to expect a spark due to equipment wanting the good old electrons, but the sparks I get are rediculous to the point the even discolor the negative terminal. Does anyone else get stupidly big sparks when reconnecting the negative terminal on this car? |

so further to this, I ordered a quick disconnect for the earth terminal. Been using this for 2 months now. BIG MISTAKE!
Do not ever invest in these pieces of crap. I broke down yesterday to only find the quick disconnect had failed. The plastic had melted, the metal had burn marks from sparks. All after fully tightening up fully approx 1 month ago. Apparently rated for up to 1000amps cca and 300 amps constant use. DO NOT BUY THESE. HUGE FIRE RISK. Mine is now in the garbage which is the only place these should be. |
