Just hit 2k miles on the car and car is running great apart from the screeching noise from the brakes but might have to learn to live with that.

Now just want to lower the car at the most an inch, a proper exhaust system to hear the beast and an ECU tune. Just then this DD will be perfect.

I’m with you on exhaust sound. The Akra on my X5M kills the M5.

I’ve wondered how it would sound pure stock but with the secondary cats gutted. No sensors on those to set a code. Looks fairly easy to gut. M4 guys are claiming a nice sound increase.

M4 exhaust sound is the very worst. No matter what you do it sounds like a lawn mower. Glad mine is gone this weekend!

QB7: Now that you have some miles and time with the M5, any regrets from moving on from the E63s?

That is a very hard question to answer. I think overall as a daily driver the M5 is a better car. More comfortable, steering and suspension feel are way better, the tech is better integrated and my M5 has not had the issues the E63 had.

However the E63 has that engine and makes a mean noise. I think I must have wasted 4 gallons a tank just to hear it without going anywhere. The tranny is also a lot more aggressive ( good way and bad way ).

I have other cars to fool around in but if I could only have one car and it had to be either the M5 or the E63s I think it would have to be the

So the brakes aren't any quieter on the F90 than they were on the F10?

Did the E63's brakes make any noise?

I'm just behind you at 1,898 miles and having the same experience (no issues, knock on wood). Glad you're enjoying it.

I really wish that someone would come out with a more aggressive exhaust for this thing..

I had an F10 M5, have an F13 M6, and test drove the 2018 E63 (that's the same one you are talking about, right?)

The E63 steering felt miles lighter + better, nicer steering wheel, and the interior seemed way better...

What about the M5 interior do you like/think is better and what problems did you have? I am heavily thinking of making the switch to AMG.

I'm on the fence as well. Owned both F10 and W212. Now they seem closer than ever. The brake squeal on the F10 was maddening at times and all my AMG's have been whisper quiet.

The new COMAND in the E63 doesn't seem very intuitive with lots of gestures and swipes. I had an E300 loaner and hated the COMAND system. It all just seems so busy whereas the F90 interior seems more refined, but I haven't played with the new iDrive.

I like the color/wheel options better on the W213 and their exhaust note is sublime.

Tough call.

I am having the hardest time deciding between these two cars. I need an E63s test drive to see how it rides on comfort mode on uneven surfaces. It looks and sounds bad a@@.

Or I will go M5 CZP '19.

I have a f10 550i M Sport and would like something a bit more exciting... .

When does the model year switch over? Just got a June allocation but will wait if the ‘19s with Comp is coming soon.

Same here. No issues what so ever. Not even breathe squeal. TBH, I've been pretty lucky with BMW's except my F10 550i. It had this pesky vibration that just never went away, bmw ended up doing a trade assist for me.

I would say get the M5 CZP as it will fill in what the regular M5 is missing which is a bit of aggressiveness that the E63 has an abundance of almost too much of.
A louder exhaust and a lower ride height would make this car perfect to me and a lot better than the E63.
That is what I would recommend and what I plan on doing to my M5 which is lower just a bit and exhaust and then tune at some point.

Hope this helps!

I'm at 200 miles and also have the brakes noise. What's up with that?
