Front splitters

I was wondering if anyone sells the front splitter set in a gloss black. I've seen a bunch of them in carbon fiber similar to below, but my CS has gloss black all over the place and I think it would look better if it was all matched. I may go with the carbon fiber, but I really would like to find them in a gloss black. I thought about getting the CF and wrapping them in a black, but that seems like a waste of $ if I can just get them in black. Any information is appreciated!

I also wanted gloss black splitters to match the competition trim but had no luck finding them. So I had to do what you said and get them wrapped in gloss black. Also had to do the same with the side skirts because I couldn't find those in gloss black either. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Thanks for the info. I guess I may have to go that route as well.

I'm confused. You paid money to have them paint over $1,400 OEM front splitters? I would have just left them off in that case. The splitters match the roof....

I had them wrapped, not painted. A friend of mine who does wraps did it for me. Didn't cost me much

They actually don't match the roof. Roof is 1x1 cf and bmw perf parts are all 2x2. But yeah I agree kinda odd to cover them If you got oems

The roof kind of means the M-Performance rear spoiler and diffuser flow well, especially as they are shaped with the same indent, so look almost as if they should be there.

However, I can't like the front splitters (canards) at all in CF, so I do understand why someone would paint them black to match grilles, or even body coloured.

Yeah, I know they don't match the roof....but no one will ever notice that.

My M5 just happened to have the front splitters, too (dealer had them installed at port) and there is no option to remove them unless you want to have your bumper repainted due to the Betalink......so I live with them. I thought about getting them wrapped but I think it might look odd unless they were wrapped black (and I would rather have carbon fiber if I am stuck with them).

OP's doesn't look bad.....but I don't know that you can tell the difference between the black and CF unless you are real-up close. Wrapping is easily reversible, though.

Did anyone install these themselves? If so, how was the process? Do I need to drill holes in the bumper or just use the 3m tape it came with ?

No holes batalink adhesive is harsh and can ruin paint , I would use a mild adhesive from Home Depot clean all areas with ac
Alcohol or 3m adhesion promoter.

I found the part number for the spoiler you inquired about also.

For those of you looking for gloss / matte / carbon look splitters or general ground effect kits, Maxton Design makes some really good quality stuff. Of course actual look boils down to individual taste.

https://maxtondesignusa.net/

I installed a full kit on my Audi and was impressed with the quality. It's a fraction of the cost of MP/ Akro, etc.

I'm debating just going back with Maxton and calling it a day and spending less than $1K overall, or with some of the real carbon stuff everyone mentions on the forums and spend over $6K. Tempting to do carbon fiber, but have to get realistic on price, especially on items that have a higher propensity to get damaged.
