Those appear to be some large RED brake calipers... kinda interesting.

I'm looking forward to seeing the LCI

Based on secrecy why put a CS badge on? Make sure it fits? Playing games.

New BMW world order is to release ALL MODELS .... (consider them to be just like Porsche)..

There is no reason to hold back on COMP model or a CS model (while customers wait in the wings for them to be announced ) in the same way that porsche rolls out a base model... then . then a Carrera 4... then an S>... then a GTS... GT3 etc.....etc..

With regards to the BMW models.. when it comes time for an LCI.. There will simply be an LCI for all three... ( or four if a CSL is in the cards)... models in the lineup .

Is that an LCI right behind it?

i would like to see gold matte finish on wheels as well as in the badges lets say, as signature M, like M Perf vehicles have that matte bronze, and the m8 GC concoet had golden, at first i did not like those elements, but now i wish bmw has that, of course as an option... i like that more then having red brake calipers, i mean look at thoes golden wheels on gray car having red brakes, it looks ridicilous, even the blue is on the edge, but it is tolerably

The costs associated with decontenting vehicles are more about changes in the production line.

Decontenting in general creates a sense of exclusivity/superiority as we all know. Porsche is a master of this and really kicked it off in the US with the RS America back in the 80's. From what I remember that car was less than 50 lbs lighter than a standard 911.

On an M5cs, it would be relatively easy to drop a lot of weight. Simple carbon buckets, sunroof delete, proximity censor delete (keyless entry/go), power trunk, etc. The problem is around how integrated those systems are into the vehicle. My guess is quite a bit so removing many of those systems might be much more difficult than it looks on the surface.

The other question is how large the real market is for a vehicle like an M5cs. Typical M5 buyers are more about having the fastest sled on the hill, not hard core track people that would notice the very slight weight decline.

The F80 M3 had one model year before the LCI :

Wasn't there a torque difference between the CS and Comp editions for F80 (443lbft vs 406lbft)?

Perhaps a torque bump to 600+lbft would accompany the cosmetic changes.

Something does seem right with these spy shots. I don't think they would have put the badging on it especially for a new model like the CS.

I sure hope that the spy shot above in this thread of the Massive Grill is not the future of the M5. Not great looking and will instantly make all cars look dated... .
