Alpine White M5....what looks better, exhaust tips in chrome or black?

What are your guys' thoughts on this? Do you like the chrome exhaust tips or the black tips on the Competition?

I have considered having my rear valance painted black like the Competitions have.....but I really don't want to change the tips to black. I just feel the chrome ones look beefier.....and the black ones get hidden, especially on a white car. Thoughts? Would it look weird to have the valance painted black and keep the chrome tips (I assume not.....Mercedes does it with their non-S AMG models and the M8 non-Comp is the same way).

Currently with the Chrome tips on mine but would be curious to see what black tips would look like as well.

Here are a couple pics. Pretty sure the chrome tips are larger/aftermarket.

I think the black valence is the worst part of the comp pkg. I would keep it white and do black tips if going full chrome delete or chrome if keeping non comp chrome trim.

I went full chrome delete on my white F10 M5 and ended up with Akra CF tips which were a nice contrast.

Problem is if I go black tips then I basically have to change my emblem to black and I just think painted emblems are tacky (unless it came that way from the factory).

Maybe I need to go see a white Comp in person and see for myself....

You can order an OEM black badge.

It comes as three pieces, so omit the 'competition' strip and is sits exactly in the same place as your current badge.

Black, no question.

Chrome doesn't really belong on M cars. That's for the lesser models.

Love the chrome tips in that pic above. Black tips get lost in the splitter.

Are the tips on the competition models a black chrome? Or are they just a gloss black?

These are oem tips that come on the comp: https://ind-distribution.com/collect...e-exhaust-tips

I'd call them gloss black, others call them black chrome.

Bought OEM black tips and ended up returning them. They didn't look good on alpine white. The black color makes them look a lot smaller than the chrome ones (even though they are the same size). They just don't pop as much as the chrome.

Still debating painting my valance black and leaving the tips chromed.....

Surprisingly, I think the chrome tips look better in that pic.
I do generally prefer the black rear of the M5C but black tips would probably stand out more and look better against an all white rear.

The light is also hitting the rear better in the first photo so it shows the lines better instead of just looking like a black void.

Maybe that's it...

Black tips disappear if the surrounding plastic is dark, and wind up just looking like dirty chrome tips. Sometimes it's hard to notice that they're double tips on each side. The chrome look much sportier IMO.

No doubt, the sun is shining directly on that pic above. In most of the pics I see for the white cars (with black tips), it basically looks like there are no tips whatsoever instead of black tips. The sun has to be just right for them to be seen....and when I test-fitted mine, they obviously were not in the least bit dirty. In other words, would look even worse when dirty. The chrome makes the tips look bigger...it's just the shadow appearance that makes the black ones look smaller but I'm not the first person who has noticed this.
