Positioning of the unit is therefore the more important aspect.
A sub 2.9 sec to 60 is pretty impressive.
I think I'll quote that time for my car!
Yeah I was well impressed, I had the suspension in comfort, I think that helped with the launch.

So a strong signal to 4 or more satellites is essential making location of the device quite important...on the roof would be best.
Still it should be fairly accurate and comparable to other gps based loggers.
I would have thought any minor inaccuracies would be in the initial movement from 0 mph.
I would guess it also uses accelerometers, combined with the info from GPS, to get down to that kind of accuracy.
Also, will GPS signals penetrate the carbon fiber roof? (I know some have moon roof and metal roof). I have always had my escort radar detectors mounted up there at the roof line above the mirror, and they've never had any trouble getting GPS signal.

A GPS receiver can get an approximate position from 3 satellites but needs 4 to be fully accurate. Uninterrupted line of sight is always recommended for best accuracy which for commercial use is typically 3 or 4 metres.
A few things can affect the quality of the signal, especially the weather and being near tall buildings (and even some windscreens).
Also there maybe be timing errors or satellites slightly out of position....so an almanac containing up to date data regarding the satellites is regularly downloaded/updated by the unit to maintain accuracy.

Do you only get the verified stamp with 4 or more sats?

I have left mine in the center console on accident and it worked and another time it didn't. However, to make sure I'm getting a good signal I just put a small strip of velcro on the back of mine and I mount it on the backside of the infotainment screen.

Your center speaker is the perfect mounting point.
Unless if you have B&W where it tilted up.

The grille on the B&W is plastic (unlike my AMG) so it can't magnetically adhere. I use the Velcro trick like HT—same spot.

OK having some good fun with this, had around 8 launches and all but 2 are below 3sec, well impressed.

Any ideas on how long you have to wait between launches, if I try and do two in a row she won't give me the flag.
