New (used) owner. Q about Eibach Pro-Kit

Hey guys, just bought a 2019 M5 base. I love the ride quality compared to my old Porsche and told myself I wouldn't lower it, but I've always had lowered cars and after less than 2 weeks of ownership I'm already feeling the itch.

Base on what I have seen, the Pro-Kit will be the ride height I'm looking for. Lower, but not slammed. However does anybody know the ride quality difference vs stock? I live in the bay area and as you guys know our roads are terrible.

Here's a pic of my old 911 lowered on H&R sports. Looked amazing but rubbed on big bumps and felt like it was going to explode when I hit potholes.

Here's my new-to-me M5. A little more subtle

having hard time finding anyone in the states running eibach on an f90. the evolve video, and previous ///M experience on eibachs, make me believe it's a viable option.

anyone run them in the us? reviews?

They're the go to option on some models while HR are to avoided. But you're right. Haven't heard of anyone using them on the F90. It's all been KW HAS or HR

I ran H&R on my E36 M3 and E90 M3 and run them on my F90 M3. No problems. Eibach also have a good reputation. Most people tend to buy based on cosmetics — the rake or how the lowering reduces gender gap. It is the minority that seem to be interested in performance. What I read in the little I could find about the Eibach is that it felt like it offered little to no performance benefit, which probably means it would be the better choice for areas with bad roads.

I bought the H&R (M5 spec not M550ix spec). I like them and roads in my area are not great but are OK. I could not go lower to M550ix spec because I drive in winter. The year and model of the car can make a difference. I have a 2018 base M5, which has softer strut valving. Some owners have complained about a rough ride on the 2019-2020 competitions.

I installed the Eibach springs on a 23 M5c. I also used future classic wheel spacers 15mm front and 12mm rear. The ride quality is as good if not better than stock. I keep it in sport plus for engine, comfort for suspension and steering as my daily settings. My local BMW did the install as well as all the new Carbon Fiber splitter, side skirts and 3d difusser. See pic. Sorry for the quality 😊. I'll get better pics tomorrow

To me, that ride height looks perfect. I don't like the slammed look in bigger cars like this. I had a Redeye before the Porsche and actually preferred the stock ride height on that one

I have the HR f90 spec springs. Ride quality is same if not better than stock.

I do wish I when with HAS springs though . Wish I was a tad lower

Not yet. I pushed everything back because I ended up getting some Titan 7s and wanted to get those mounted first, which should hopefully be done this friday. Then I will schedule the lowering springs for january since my shop is booked up this month (unless somebody cancels)

hey, what specs are you wheels? I am trying to determine if I will rub, with my aftermarket wheels and the Eibach Pro Kit. Do you have any rubbing when going through any minimal dips at high speeds and the car goes up and down? Thanks!

Having a hard time debating between Eibach and H&R M550 springs and whether I should also go with spacers or not.

The M550’s will give you a more aggressive drop than the Eibach springs. It really is dependent on what you’re looking for.

I’m on 550’s and spacers (11/15).

Here is a pic.

Ok I think this solidified my decision thank you! I'm on stock wheel setup, you think I should do spacers?

I think it completes the look and compliments a lowered car well essentially providing a more aggressive look to the OEM wheels.

All of this is subjective and really about personal tastes so go with what you like.

I ended up getting the springs installed, and love them. To me, the ride height is perfect. The car is less floaty over undulations, and in comfort mode there seems to be "one less bounce". It rides about 90% as well as stock I would say.

I have it paired up with Titan7 wheels which reduced the ride quality a little bit, so I'm sure with the factory wheels it would be imperceptible.

Anyways, here's some pics of how it sits now. I'm very happy. Ignore the ricey rear diffuser, new one is in the mail (M Performance)

I asked my local BMW shop about installing the Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs on my M5 Comp. He said not an issue, but did reply with the following:

"Since your M5 has adaptive electronic suspension, have you looked into lowering and not have a warning or dash light after? Just concerned if needing coding to know height has changed?"

Anyone with the Eibach kit or other lowering springs have any issues? Do our M5's throw any codes, due to the height change through lowering springs?
