Winter setups...I know its early

I need to start looking given how little there seems to be available for these cars and the multitude of size options.

So what is everyone running in the winter?

I would ideally like to run OEM 19s with 255 or 265 /35/19 in the front (The CS has 265) and drop to 275/35/19 in the rear. I believe PA4s are available in W rating with correct loads.

Anyone know the wheel offset for 19 and 20inch BMW rims? In case I need to buy aftermarket.

Ive seen some run square setups with 255s? Thats a 2.6% difference on the rear.

I have a '18 CP (20 inch 666M wheels) and I'm patiently waiting for the Michelin Alpin PA4's to release that 265 you mentioned. Currently, they have a 285/30/20 that fits my rears, just need that matching 265/30/20 which is said to release later this month - according to a Michelin customer support rep I spoke with. They are W rated with correct load (99 and 94 I believe).

I guess if you are ok with the 2.6% overall smaller diameter. Tire must be somewhat stretched as well vs the 285, increasing the difference even more.

Tire specs?

No stretch when running a 19" wheel. I ran this set up last winter and it was perfectly fine.

255-35-19

Running these on the oem 19's would have a slight stretch but not terrible.

And the added bonus of being able to swap the tires front to rear to extend tire life is an added bonus

I am running 255 square setup on aftermarket rims. However, I am running them on 18s. Not to distract but why are you interested on 19s? unless you have CCBs.... than it makes sense.

I have always run stock rims on winters, mostly for looks and convenience. I don't understand why one would spend so much on a car only to ruin the look for one third of the year. Besides winters are so mild downtown Toronto 18s with narrow tires is overkill.

Dropping to 19s is a already a big enough step! Mainly want to preserve these CS rims just in case.

18" rims?

Hey guys, just popped by a local tire shop to look at square winter setup and they seem to think that many non-oem 18" rims won't clear the brakes on my car. I don't have CCB or competition pack but I am currently on staggered 19s.

They are also recommending spacers on the back to align the front and rear tracks.

Do I need OEM rims to get the right 18" fitment?

What is CCB? Also, if you have the Competition package rim fitment differs?

Not at all... in Canada, sometimes, we do see snow fall as early as September and by early October, people will have started to put on winters.

Nope - you can run nonOEM rims for 18s and get 255 square setup

Are spacers required in the rear to align the tracks? if so what size for an 8" wheel?

So I went to the dealer today and for my M4 the winter tire package is as follow:

19” x 8.5 front
19” x 9 rear
Style is 641M

Tires are Continental Winter Contact TS830P 255/35/19

Package price is around $5400 cad

I found these guys are selling exactly the same package
