if my m5 is 2020 and i can tune it would bootmod3 already can i tcu tune it through xhp already?

No unless your car is built pre 06/19.

Yes but Ecu and Tcu are not the same you tune the engine with the Ecu (Engine control unit) or Dme in Bmw speak. With the Tcu (Transmission control unit) you can tune the transmisson.
Both the Ecu and Tcu are present from the factory.

I just put the XHP Stage 3 on my 18. Definitely quicker shifts. I left the shift points OEM since I am not convinced raising them to redline makes the car any faster. Removing the torque limits on shifts probably shortens the life of the trans, but I drive in efficient/comfort most of the time with default shift settings. Play time is a tiny percentage of driving time.
