MPE “too” much?

I tell ya, my build keeps getting more expensive by the day. By the time I pull the trigger, I could have bought a M8

Since I’m going to lease, thinking about residualizing the MPE port installed. How much better is it than stock comp exhaust? Bigger question, does it always do this or is the driver exaggerating the system with his shifting and throttle engagement? or otherwise have additional add ons? I like some pops and bangs obviously, but this is way too much while “normal” driving.

The driver here had a microphone right by the exhaust. I don't think it would be that loud in the cabin.

Much better than the M Sport exhaust, in my opinion, and more in line with the character of the car.

It is not as drastic as depicted in the video and is much more subtle in Sport or comfort mode regarding the pops and cracks.

Go for it!!

Is the MPE just a different muffler than the M-Sport?

Best decision I ever made was adding the MPE!

It's quiet and civilized in comfort/eco (cruising on the highway you can barely hear it) but when you go to sport plus it is a different animal and sounds amazing! As others have said it complements the car perfectly and should be like this out the factory IMO.

Do it you won't be disappointed!! Full disclosure….Cold start up is loud but becomes much quieter quickly!

M sport is the same muffler as regular exhaust. Only resonator differs.

And the MPE is different muffler with m sport resonator.

Same tone as normal M5 exhaust if you remove resonator. Just Much louder and more bangs and farts and no valves to help manage the noise.

Get the MPE, pops and bangs can be turned off with the exhaust button.

My 2020 M5C has a stock exhaust and sounds plenty aggressive with copious flatulence/pops/bangs with the overrun. Can't say I'd ever want it to be any louder. But it's also a daily for me

MPE does not sound like that video. The M5C stock exhaust does not give the car the character it deserves. Normal driving non sport+ is not loud. Exhaust button takes the pops out of sport + mode.

Full throttle is GLORIUS. A symphony of twin turbo V8 sound. Lease is no brainer get it. Also the CCB’s while expensive are so worth it for non track driving to keep dust to a minimum and noise non existent

Thanks for convincing and costing me more money buddy! 😝
Yes I would like the CBB but wow, just so much more expensive! And I know this sounds shallow, but the gold color is really a turn off for me. . .

I really dislike the gold, too. For the money, you should be able to pick your caliper color. When I researched getting them painted or just made a different color, I was surprised to find that most people are trying to make their regular calipers look CCB gold. I guess pretending they have CCB's to the world is more important than actual aesthetics.

I didn't love the Gold CCB's against two-tone 789's but think they look great against all black wheels.

Agree. Not a fan of the gold myself. Hope they provide red CCBs as an option like in the CS in future models. I really like them.

Having the red, what would be REALLY nice is if they came in black. You know? Like regular brakes that not every nutswinger can notice.

Good job everyone! You just couldn’t have said, “Nah, not really worth it. . . stick with the factory. . . “ could ya?!?
Now I’m sold!

(Doesn’t help either my CA used descriptors such as “intoxicating” “authoritative” and assured me, “you’ll have a smile on your face every time you get on it” How can one argue with that logic?)

Hah! I'm not sure if it's worth it, but it's certainly not "too much". The video has the mic pretty close to where the exhaust is apparently, so much that it's actually clipping.

The cabin is pretty well insulated, so I actually wish I could hear more of it. Moonroof open/windows down you can certainly hear how loud the pops actually are and how much you're scaring pedestrians/cyclists/bikers. Again, you can turn those off by keeping it in Sport, or using the exhaust button in Sport+

It's loud, but not F-Type R/SVR loud. I haven't heard the M Sport Exhaust (standard w/Competition package) except in videos, so I'm not sure how much better the M Performance Exhaust is really.

I bought my car pre-enjoyed with the MPE already on it, and I'm glad I have it, so I think you'll love it too.

I get it appearance may not be your style but dustless rims can’t be denied

Get what fits your style/budget. MPE &CCB are both worthwhile
