Retrofitting Pre-LCI Gauges into LCI
I apologize if this has been discussed. I am in the market for an f90 and I prefer the suspension setup of the LCI, but I much prefer the gauge cluster of the PreLCI. has anyone installed a pre lci cluster into an LCI? not sure if the is direct plug and play or not.

It may be doable, but I highly doubt it based on our conversations of an attempt at the reverse. If it is doable, it’s certainly not PNP. The older gauges as I’m sure you know have a physical, integrated plastic dial overlayed onto the screen. The newer gauges do not have that, and, as a result, they’d never display properly, especially as they’re running different versions of iDrive.

They do? From the images I have seen the pre LCI cluster looks like a screen to me as well but I prefer the layout.

Interesting. I read the press release for the LCI and they claim a bunch of hardware was changed and software to make that hardware work well, but maybe that was just marketing speak and it’s just the shocks. Do you happen to have a link to the thread?

Thanks! Just read through it, definitely an impressive DIY project but likely easier than trying to swap out the gauges so going with a pre LCI and swapping the suspension might be might best bet.
