So picking up a DG over full Aragon w/ Exec, DA+, and B&W. 2/20 build date. Took forever it feels like to find a dealer to give up one I wanted with the numbers I wanted through my broker. But I think it'll be worth it although I am having a bit of remorse. Albeit the deal on this one is solid the dealer was playing this game of "too many people have shown interest to let it go" which caused me to move on to another one being an M5C with the MP exhaust which I never would have spec'd myself but was a bit exciting to think of having it if even for 3 years. Never the less the call came in and it was for the original M5.

But hey It's got everything I wanted and at $200/m less than the M5C which I can't complain about. That'll afford me plenty of MP parts along the way (most I've already purchased). And considering the power bump is essentially pointless $10k would only get me the M sport exhaust, black grill and gills ($330 package) and black exhaust tips ($400). I'm not counting the rims cuz I wanted the black ones anyway.

Nevertheless I bought a one way ticket for $60 (thanks COVID?) and will be driving back tomorrow afternoon. Pray to god I don't mar the paint cuz I already schedule my PPF and ceramic coating for Monday.

Have never leased a car before much less had a new one so any lessons learned when leasing a BMW? So far don't have the greatest confidence in this dealer. Although they're 20 min from the airport they won't pick me up and they won't attempt to get the MP parts from their sister dealer 10 min away from them even though he has to drive right past them to pick up the car lol. Stupid but says something to me. Something simple to make the whole thing more seamless to me.

Oh well. More time in the car ripping around MD and VA.

Because the paint on these cars chips easily and some of us like our cars to look great while we have them.

I agree, spending all that money to PPF and ceramic a car that's on a 36 month lease seems a bit odd/unusual. To each his own though.

Congrats on the new car though OP. You're gonna love it.

Double check EVERYTHING on the contract. Download a leasing app and make sure the numbers add up and you are getting base rate on the financing. More than once I have had finance try to slip things into the contract.

I lease my M5 and I am glad I put the ceramic coating on it. I want my car to look great for the period that I drive it.

Congratulations! Bet this is the one from Fairfax as it was on my list I gave my local dealer to do a trade. He was able to get the one from Cincinnati- same as this one but does not have the full Aragon but has the two tone wheels and black grill.
This is my first time leasing as well and already have the tint and PPF for the full hood and fenders as I drive mostly on the highway. Picked up 10 days ago and already have more than 1000 miles and am going in Friday for the 1100 mile break in service.
Sweet ride- you will love it. Enjoy it in the best of health!

Same here. I put PPF and ceramic on my lease, and it keeps my ocd in check. I would hate having stone chips and then having to drive with them until the end of the lease.

Ceramic makes it easier to clean, and ppf keeps car looking mint even after multiple winters, to me it's a worthy investment.

Yes it was the one from Fairfax! Picked her up today. Sales guy took the keys with him to pick up another car today so he wasn't there when I got there and they couldn't clean the inside. I asked him not to touch the outside but he took it as don't clean anything. A bit annoying. Plus I found out we had to go get gas before I could leave because he didn't fill it already. Annoying. And despite them knowing exactly when I would be there. I still had to wait over 45 min to start signing paperwork. Annoying only cuz I had a 5 hour drive plus had to drive to another dealer and pick up the M Performance parts still.

Anywho. All is done and I got the pleasure of experiencing her for the last several hours and love the hell out of this driving experience. Especially happy with the drivers assist plus. Felt it stayed in the middle of the lane quite well. Also super impressed with the BW sound system. Sounds much better than my bang and olufsen in my X5. Even the suspension feels so much smoother surprisingly.

Never the less. I'll at least get on the M diffuser and MP Carbon license plate. Gonna wait to debadge the chrome M5 and see about removing the factory spoiler and adding on the MP pro. See if I can find some videos. Hopefully it doesn't take betalink.

Picked up the front color side markers, black grill and gills, and rear acexxon reflector things from IND. and got some RKP cf side mirrors from a forum member already wrapped in PPF which is nice.

Oh and attached is a photo of this pretty badass document display thing the finance guy had at the dealer. He just got it and didn't know how to use it and it crashed a few times but still pretty cool once they get the bugs worked out I think.

Oh forgot to mention. Was gonna get the wheel and tire package but they wanted $2500. I declined and mentioned how expensive it was compared to others and not a peep or reduction. But i did go with the lease protection thing that protects against any extra damage and prevents me from having to replace the tires before hand. Whole thing cuz about as much as a new set of the Michelin 4S so I figured it was worth it.

Also anyone know how long apple car play will work? It's a subscription, no?

Apple CarPlay is now standard (for lifetime of vehicle - no subscription needed)

Congrats I'm too experienced bad customer service from another dealer in the DMV area. BMW should do something about it

I don't do business with BMW of Fairfax. They lied to me and did a poor job with my E39 M5 back in the day and I don't recommend them to anybody.

Ya I was pretty annoyed how they jerked us around a bit. It was just inconvenient at best because I had actually taken about a week of post deployment leave and was hoping to get this all done during that time frame. But I didn't get the call until my last day of leave which meant I had to leave work super early my first day back which was awkward to pull off. But success nonetheless.

Funny you mention deployment leave, the only reason I could not go after them and finish the claim is that I deployed to Afghanistan a few weeks after they completed the car. So I just don't do anything with them.
