Looking forward to future iterations of this car. Not sure I'll ever be able to justify it while having a couple of other sports coupes, but its still cool. If I were buying I would not fixate about not getting a manual gearbox in the top spec versions as there are slower cars that it fits better with.

I like it, I actually like it. I’d ride this over a G8x disaster. Having the ability to remove the roof would solve the biggest problem for me concerning the car, which is terrible visibility and the feeling you’re in a pillbox while driving.

I'd be sold if they'd get rid of all the fake vents, winglets, spats, and intakes. The Japanese designers have a big problem taking design too far.

I mean BMW, and other German manufacturers ain't better in this regard in the past 2 years.

Was indifferent about the Supra when it was revealed, it looked alright and aggressively styled.
It was after seeing it on the road that made the impression much better. If they make it with a 6MT, even with the B58, I'll be getting one.

BMW will never allow another car company to use one of their "S" motors.

If you want a Supra with the S58 and a manual, the only option is going to be the M2.

Interesting. ~1,200 of those new ones up for sale in the US based on Cargurus too.

I wonder if we will get any Z4 Coupe style trunk money on these models. They have what, nearly 20% of the inventory they sold to dealers sitting on the lots? I am looking at other cars, but the Supra could just be a fun semi-unique car to own with these numbers at the right price.

Compare those Supra sales numbers to the 2006-2008 Z4 coupe numbers for all of North America:

3.0si coupes - 2104 total (1276 automatics, 828 manuals)
Z4M coupes - 1815 total (all are manuals)
TOTAL E86 production for North America (3 year run) - 3919 units

So far, Supra sales are far ahead of the old Z4 coupe sales - and they're only into the 2nd model year.

That engine stock is a dog by today's standards nevermind the fact it would fail all modern emissions standards. The 2JZ is only noteworthy with a big aftermarket turbo bolted on.

No shit it's old. The point was, you couldn't break the thing. It was a beast! You could run tons of boost and never had to worry about it blowing up. I have had 3 M vehicles and everyone has some type of issue. Some even having a recall. Hopefully these new motors won't be like the old ones. I'm keeping my M4 for now. 1 spun hub and a BIG repair bill later, RS6 is my next project. I've never had an Audi and always thought BMW was a more fun experience and always faster. That being said, I have always wanted a bad ass wagon and now there is one here
