Perhaps someone else will have the part number. I know on my build it comes up as Z2F but that's not much help to you. The guys at IND seem very knowledgable about these parts and I suspect they would be able to help you out to figure out the correct wheel that retains the heating function. Otherwise the dealer should be able to look it up. My dealer told me when I ordered that it may not retain the heating function so I was surprised to see it when the car arrived.

Your code is the same one that my CA gave me in February, but something must have changed because I think you're the first person to get the M perf steering wheel with the heating element. Interesting development! |

Right now, as we speak, it is off the coast of Ft. Lauderdale after making a quick pit stop in Brunswick. I feel stupid, yet it is so fun, checking a chugging container ship going 14 knots an hour.

I visited TireRack in South Bend on Monday to get tires mounted up to my 863Ms. I went with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s. 285/35R20 in the front and 295/35r20 in the rear.
Just 2 weeks to go until PCD! I'll head to the dealer this weekend to sign paperwork. |

The long wait was definitely worth it! I had an absolute blast taking delivery at the Performance Center. After a quick intro, the experience was broken into 3 parts: Track Time, Plant Tour & Off-road Course, and Delivery.
For track time, I was paired up with a duo of YouTubers that were taking delivery of a G80 Comp. I was assigned to a white F90C LCI w/ CCBs for the braking and handling exercises. Braking runs consisted of panic stops, with obstacle avoidance, at progressively higher speeds topping out at 65mph. Next came, what was for me, the highlight of the track time; The handling course. Here we were able to get a feel for the performance envelope of the cars on a short and simple circuit. Next, we drove a M340i around the wet skid pad to experience a DSC-off spin and then DSC controlled corrections. We also had the opportunity to attempt to drift around the skid pad. Finally we rode along for, mostly sideways, hot laps with the instructors around the full course in M5s. We then jumped into X5s for a short drive over to the Zentrum Museum and Plant Tour. It was neat to the see the body line, but unfortunately the line was paused for a repair to one of the robots. After the tour and a few minute to browse the collection in the Zentrum we headed back to the Performance Center for the off-road course. I’m sure 99.9% of X5s will never see duty anywhere close to what we put them through. I’m highly impressed by the capability and smoothness of the air suspension equipped X5. It forded water, scaled steep rock hills, made not so much as a creak over the frame twister on 2 wheels, and will handle far more side-slope than most will be anywhere near comfortable with. After lunch it was time for delivery. Other than coming shod in Pirelli’s, I couldn’t be happier with my spec. The delivery experts spent plenty of time helping me get fully setup for my drive home. Due to an unexpected family commitment on Friday, I had to drive straight home. I did take a bit of a detour to jump on the Blue Ridge Parkway and drive through Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The 700-mile drive home was a perfect way to get acquainted to the car and put on a good number of break-in miles. Break-in restrictions of 5500rpm and no full-throttle hardly felt like limitations. Hope you enjoy the photos. I threw in a quick teaser of the 863Ms, but haven’t had an opportunity to grab some shots where you can see all of the car with them. |
