M5 CP vs Jaguar

Maybe the first official M5 CP test? Results are encouraging, slower on track vs the Jag but much quicker in the straight (for real world purposes I much prefer the straight line speed), it's an easy choice, M5 of course.

Interesting comparison to the M5. 10.6 to 200kph, 33.0 to 300kph and 11.09 in the 1/4 vs 10.3 , 32.8 and 11.05

The Sport Cup 2 tires on the Jaguar must have helped quite a bit on the track.

The Jag is also over 100kg lighter and got a big wing for downforce (Maybe it's why it's much slower to 300km/h). But at over 50k euro more expensive and boy racer look, it's just not for me.

If I was in the market for this segment now, I would save the premium and wait to see if BMW really is going to make a CS version of the M5 and go for that.

I think the M5 looks like a very classy act, next to the meccano kit Jaguar ?.

0.4s faster compared to the new M5 non CP, in a bit colder conditions and on the same tyre (https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1494962)

I think that is fairly even. I was expecting a 1 sec difference on Sachensenring. Maybe the difference between non CP and CP is more in terms of feel than outright performance. M5 CP was 2s faster from 200 to 300, which is nice, but other results are pretty even too.

To be fair to the standard M5 when I post RS7 Performance model did 0-300km/h in 32.1 seconds people are saying it wasn't tested at the same day as the M5 so the result doesn't count

That aside yes, I do expect the M5CP be consistently faster than the M5 on the track, I think that's where CP makes the biggest difference.

Let's see. In Sachensenring, I found the difference pretty minimal, and I expect that in other tracks, it will be an even smaller difference. Let's see how things will pan out.

This jag, is not an 5 seats car.... it's more like a gt3 kind of car.

IMO ... it's comparing orange with apple ..

The M5 CP is not he same "kind of Beast" not build for the same purpose.

it's like

911 turbo and 911 gt3rs on a track.

My thoughts exactly.

Dunno why Jaguar felt the need to go so much over the top. Their F Type is such a classy car.

Also, that Jag interior is hideous.

F10 M5 and F10 M5 CP on Hockenheim track (Sport Auto test): 1.13,4 and 1.13,0.

Hockenheim is a short track and it is less technical than Sachensenring. The M5 F90 CP will have a smaller difference than 0.4s, I am almost sure. The M5 F10 CP was far less wayward than the non CP. Although frankly it doesn't really matter. I think whoever buys the CP doesn't buy it for the extra 5% of performance it offers, I think they buy it for the feel, as it transmits a lot more feel and exhaust noise (as said by most people who drove both). Nevertheless both M5's are pretty epic.

Oh I'm not doubting your prediction, I was merely giving SA's result on Hockenheim. And yeah I don't think most of us are buying CP for that extra performance which we can't really exploit.

I'd buy it for the better looking forged wheels mainly
