M5 to GTC4 Lusso

I'm thinking about buying another Ferrari but this time trading my M5C in on a Lusso. Anyone have experience with the Lusso? I will be test driving next week.

No experience with the Lusso but I know it was an improvement over the FF (which I did have for 1 year). That V12 song and engine is brilliant but buy it 1 year used if possible to avoid some of the front engine depreciation that F cars have.

Brother I'm buying 3 years old for a 50% off if I can get this deal to go through. I'll never stomach a $200k depreciation hit! I'm curious how fun I'll find it. My biggest issue with the M5 is while it's ludicrously fast I don't feel that connected to it.

why not going after the new 911 turbo s instead? it’s ridiculously good and still somewhat affordable.

I drove one only for about an hour so take my perspective with a 1-hour pinch of salt: loved the drive; definitely felt connected; the mechanical and tactile aspects are next level (as expected); engine note is gorgeous; shifts were sublime. A big "however" moment for me, though: insufficient low-end torque (naturally aspirated so understandable) and it required me to wring its nuts off to get to what an M5 stock had taught me was normal power delivery—above 6K was delicious in every way. I also found the tech yesteryear but that's not really a selling point of Ferraris I guess—perhaps it should be for the new round of buyers?

I got out of the car, looked back and thought wow, that was something special and new to me. I don't think I'm ready for one yet... or perhaps it's not ready for me.

I have had one for a while although it is a 70th anniversary model.
You do have to get it over 4K rpm to really hear the v12 sing. I would see about getting the Tubi sports exhaust.
It's actually a great car, very comfortable with the magnetic shocks, great seats and the tranny is almost as good as the Porsche PDK. Great daily driver.
When pushing it on canyons or a track it does understeer a little but easily balanced with power.
Make sure you get one with the extended warranty/maintenance I think right now it's 6 years from Ferrari.
They do depreciate faster than almost anything on the market and if you do get a used one at a good price it's actually very good value. I would daily this over the M5 if it had 4 doors and no Ferrari badge.

Just careful where you park as the doors are sooo long you need room to get out.

How is the ground clearance? My condo building has a steep driveway. My i8 was able to clear by only just. The Lusso I'm looking at doesn't have a lift.

Ground clearance isn't bad at all but mine has the lift. It's a sports car so as long as your careful you should be fine.

My NSX also clears. But only fear with the Lusso is the long wheelbase can create a weird issue. I'll report back after I drive the car.

Thats my dog!!!! Dont you just love the driveability of the NSX?

I think there a few here that dont feel connected to the F90 (I like mine) even though its blisteringly fast. I actually love that I can just put it in D3 mode and keep the performance levels almost equal if not better letting the decision machine do the thinking. The Lusso will require you to paddle it like the FF and the 458 which you and I have/had. But without a doubt- owning an F car is a special experience.

This thread sent me down a lusty path of autotrader Lusso shopping last night. I forget how beautiful Lusso interior specs can be. Always wanted to drive one, let us know what you think when you do.

Good accurate evaluation, it's the high revs all the time got me , M5 power at the off, good luck with the test drive, feed back required.

Because the M5 isn't a sports car. It's a really fast large sedan.

If you're looking for sports car connection, I'd go right past both the M5 and the Lusso and buy a used GT3 Touring or a new Boxster Spyder.

Hasn't depreciated yet, I'll never buy a brand new Ferrari unless they gave me an allocation of something truly rare. At this point if I move the M5 here's what I'm thinking:

Ferrari GTC4
BMW M8C
Bentley CGT V8
(Welcome to entertain other suggestions)

This is my daily, I need some what of back seats, mostly to fit girls or children, and a decent boot. I don't care about gas mileage. I'd say my priorities are A. Performance, B. Intrigue, C. Beauty, D. Quality, E., Practicality. Z efficiency.

Limey I think that's beautiful. It might be the best looking BMW on sale currently. How do you like it? It's not too similar to M5 I fear?

Out of that list, I'd take the Ferrari all day and twice on Sunday.
