It looks like a F80 M3 with a longer wheelbase, especially in this pic. But I'm sure the driving experience won't be anywhere near it.

Everyone has their own preference. The grass is greener on the other side for some people. People have the right to an opinion.

I'm just amazed that so many people have the car all figured out even though obviously nobody here has driven it.

Needs to be lowered. Is there going to be a competition package?

If I want an M5, I'll buy an F80 M3 with MT. If I want an M3, I'll buy the M2. The M4 is the best M6 BMW has ever made. Think about the new cars in this way, and it all makes sense.

It's a nice looking car. Great lines and a smooth transition from the F10. The seats are sexy as hell and the M1 & M2 buttons by the paddle shifters is making me jealous. The increased power output and performance is undeniable. With all that said. There is not enough here to make me walk away from my current M5. Maybe. It will grow on me later, but I am not dropping any deposits yet.

Great attitude for a business. 'We don't care if you like our products, your opinions as a potential or existing customer are irrelevant so go buy our competitors products instead if you feel they cater to your demands.' CEO of the year candidate right here.

I like how you've already decided that this is the best sedan ever built and that other brands are 'less green' - that makes you no better than the folks that decided this car sucks without even giving it a chance. I'll reserve my judgment until I drive the car instead of jumping to conclusions but you should understand that people are entitled to their own opinions.

I think there's truth to the original post, but the M5 is so expensive that you've got to be at a "dad" age to even afford it. People who truly want something more raw and engaging will opt for the M2/3/4s of the world. The M3/4 aren't even that engaging anymore unfortunately.
Dad age? Never heard of such a thing.

Something for people that want more room and can afford more than an M3.

Can't wait to drive it!

You have to got to love some of the colorful comments out there. Could it have been more adventurous in design? Yes; but it looks great in the flesh and can't wait to see the new drive modes in action.

The M5 has always been about subtle aggression in style with super car humbling performance.

Dad age is pretty much anything from like 14 and up, so I guess he's right

You don't actually think that internet forums represent the majority of the market demand for these kind of cars, do you?

I'm taking a break from BMW M after 4 years of owning the F10 M5 with competition pack. It's a great car, but you can feel its weight when you toss it around. The new M5 looks great, lighter too, but they continue to keep increasing its size. The M5 is a fast car, but at the end of the day its a sport luxury car and not a sports car.
