EDIABAS / Tool32 Help

After installing my rear springs, I have a rear seatbelt restraint fault code and airbag light on.

I know that this can be cleared using ISTA+ or tool32.exe, neither of which I have experience with. I just have an ENET cable with ESYS.

For the last two days, I’ve been piecing together how to install Transmitter in to ESYS (failed - nothing happens when double clicking Transmitter), and also trying to get tool32 to work.

I finally got tool32 to work, and reached the stage of attempting to clear ACSM5 faults. However, I get the following error when hitting F5 under STEUERN(ARG;VERRIEGELUNG_SG;0).

Any help much appreciated.

Sounds like the rear springs weren't installed properly. I recall seeing this being a common problem on the rears. It shouldn't have to be coded out. I don't have anything readily available to spout off, but I'd check the "Suspension" subforum as there's some helpful threads regarding this issue.

Edit:
Found a few for you...

The springs were installed correctly. I should have been more clear. This was a key-on fault while the rear seatbelt wires were disconnected, with the battery still connected. Simply reconnecting seatbelt harnesses after this will not result in SRS faults codes going away on their own.

An update, so that this thread doesn’t fall into a black hole.

The problem was solved using ISTA+.
