It's primarily based on humidity and chance of your windows fogging up if memory serves correctly. I'd get about 10-15 mins on my f10 before it turned back to auto and honestly I just leave it on auto.
That makes sense from a safety and liability perspective!

Not sure, but I think the update erased my Homelink setup.

It definitely erased my M1 & M2 button settings and my seat memory.

Very annoying.

Did the update today and can confirm I lost my M button settings and my seat memory setting.

I also had to recode bimmercode.

All in all not a huge deal but I don’t see any difference in anything yet my car sounds the same and feels the same which is what I expected.

I do have one little issue I can’t remember how to do but my auto off start/stop button isn’t staying off when I hit it and then when I get back in for the next drive I have to hit it again. Am I missing something? I’ve never had to hit since I got the car it’s always stayed off.

Thanks!

Well that would be annoying. I hate that feature. If they changed it to automatically switch on every time, I hope it can be coded out.

You have to Re-enable this through the iDrive menus. Happens every time there is an update.
Pretty sure it is deep in the climate setting menu tree.

I have noticed zero difference after the update. The start / stop is still deactivated my seat is where it has always been. Seems strange some people have different experiences. I do not have to use the seat seat memory since I am the only one that drives the car and have not activated the remote start. So maybe those changed after the update.

Yeah that’s weird I wonder why some people get different things. But with all that being said I don’t see any benefits to the update either

Another compelling reason to forego this update until forced, absent even a single benefit that it seems no one has been able to find.

I was a little nervous to complete the update but my ocd made me. No issues other then having to re-do all my BimmerCode changes. Definitely no negative effect on the pops and bangs. If anything they are slightly louder.

Is there a reason why I don’t have the Remote Software Update option in my Idrive menu at all?

I am having the exact same issue with the upload into the car. I can usually figure these things out, but have been unsuccessful. I stopped at the dealer and asked for a genius and the SA said: I don't suggest doing it. We are seeing some issues due to it. I would be better if you did it here with their software.

But after reading these comments, I think I will pass. If there's no significant benefits, why introduce potential inconveniences.

Yup, I tried deleting my phone and reconnecting. Still won’t update.
I’m with you now, no rush to have this installed.

Performed the Software update. Took 15 minutes. I did not lose remote start, M1 or M2 settings and the pop is louder in SPORTS PLUS mode. All my settings remained the same.

Maybe because its a 2023?

Downloaded to my phone today. Will probably delay the update for a bit.
