What's the latest time for color change?
I posted this before and someone said week 14 is production already and too late for change. Dealer says week 10 is still ok? Really want to see Montego in person before I commit.

I believe the change could be made prior to going to order status 112. My order is actually my second; I decided to change the interior color but, since my order status was already at 112, my CA told me they'd have to place another order. Which he did

you can make changes even in status 112. i made a color change one week before going into production and option changes 1 day before. changes can be made so long as it does not go into status 150.
edit: scratch that, just checked my change sheets, i made a trim change 1 week before production and color and option change 1 day before. so, it can be done. |

not saying that it can't be done after, but my dealer told me that once the car got to status 112, they could not make any changes.

I thought status 112, they send in the request, and according to plant logistics, it's about a 50/50 chance of it being approved. a dealer offered me a car and I said, only if you can spec it to my liking, and bmw turned him down; it was at 112.

you're probably right. 112 raises a red flag that any last minute changes will have to be made asap. apparently, once some dealers see 112, they don't even try to make the desired changes and tell the customer that they are SOL once 112 status is reached.

I so hope that status 112 means so close to production. I'm there now and the anticipation is KILLING me!
Um, sorry. I have no idea what is the latest time for a color change.
