Picking up my ex demo M5C soon....

Hi Guys,

Wanted some tips on anything I should look out for, I’m picking my M5C as soon as the dealer opens.

It’s sphire black with 2000 mls on the clock. It was a ex demo car so has pretty much all the options. Apart from B&W sound system CCBs.

Anything I should look out for when collecting etc. I’m hoping to get it in to my local detailing company when I get it. I assume I will have to get a paint correction done on it... not entirely sure as I’ve not seen it yet.
I will probably go for a ceramic coat and PPF and some kind of protection on the white interior.

Can’t wait to tbh....s

With £2k miles, should be nothing to look out for.

Running in service will have been done - check it's on iDrive. I'd check the wheels for kerbing too.

No doubt you'll have to correct the paint, as the teenage valeters will have had a field day.

Enjoy!

its got a 3yr warranty so rest easy, re paint correction give it a miss until required, a decent wax and seal will suffice

I wanted to get the PPF done straight away. So I thought it would make sense to get the paint correction done at the same time.

unless the cars been through a mechanical car wash each week or cleaned at the local car wash depot where they use brooms to scrub off the dirt you should be OK, I really wouldn’t mess about unless rectification is required, post some pics too, we seem to have very few UK cars on display on this forum

By the way I have had my eye on this, I am resisting given the current situation and waiting to see what happens with the M8GC and new offers

Car looks good!

But I’m sorry, your comments in respect of correction aren’t correct. One wash by the dealer valeter and paint will need correction. A demo car will have been cleaned three times a week if not more.

Correction isn’t intrusive, it simply removes imperfections and can be done in a day.

No good PPF installer will proceed without some form of correction.

Well specced car that, I bought my X5 off them, wouldn't recommend dealing with Colin Pritchard, knows zero about cars

Yes gave me a finance quote at 10.9% APR and then dropped to 4.9% at the wiff of a challenge, classic lesson in how to rub a customer up the wrong way from the off, the monthlies actually worked out lower on a new one.

If that were a few grand less it'd make more sense, the spec is ideal

Nice spec my friend. Mine is a park lane ex demo. Got it for 67900 considering it was 75k in March I think I got a bargain.

I’m going to give it to Reep midlands or Topaz. If it needs a paint correction etc which I’m sure it will do you think I could get the dealer to ‘contribute’ to the cost. My friend picked up a m4c a few months back from Sytner and his was brand new and it needed a paint correction. Sytner paid for it to be done from reep midlands. I wonder if park lane will play ball on a ex demo.

The problem is, it’s a used car and their argument is cars get swirls. They offer the option of new with no swirls of course...

You just need to negotiate hard, but their cheapest option is to do it in-house and then it’ll be a badly corrected car, so you can’t win at dealers when it comes to ‘petty’ things like paint finish.

Put your deal on the table and only buy if it’s met.

Ah ok, yes it’s something I’ve considered. What about warranty issues?

There is always a risk, you would have to be very unlucky for them to refuse a claim though.

Would think more of a case that you would be very lucky if they would honour a claim on a chipped/mapped car

Do these things really need more HP
