Resurrecting an old thread; I love this forum - used the info here to make sure my dealer did the service with the right specs.

Just had my running in service done here in the UK - no issues. However I didn't get a breakdown of what oil was used, just a check sheet showing the front and rear diffs were done. Hope they've done it right!

Didn't they also change your engine oil? They did for me ... the diff oil is correct, I had the same oil on my car which matches the technical manual details.

That's all I got too, so I specifically asked for a pro-forma invoice listing what parts were used and, after a couple of days back and forth, Sytner Leicester told me that the couldn't due to GDPR as the "bill" was for BMW as I had a Service Pack.

Hello
I bought an M5 in October 2019. Had the RIS at a London dealer. They picked up a sticking calliper, so thought they were competent, but driving home, there was a whining noise from the rear. Took it back and they admitted to not filling the rear diff with enough oil; took it back twice more as the noise was still there. They insisted nothing was wrong; then Covid 19 struck. Took the car to dealer I bought it from, and they immediately diagnosed a new diff was needed. Asked if another RIS oil change was needed, and was told not necessary as they had put in the correct oil. Truly amazed by some garage's standards, both competency and moral. |
