Lookin at getting the jb4 for my 2018 m5. Was gonna get the mobile kit and noticed there is a charge just to use the mobile kit app. Is this another charge. Isn't that double charging? Buy the mobile kit for their app and then get charged to use the app too?

The wireless kit is hardware on the JB4 unit so it costs more than the JB4 without it. I don't think BMS makes the app so you're paying whoever made the app to purchase and use it with the JB4

The bluetooth adapter and app are $170 or use their $35 cable and windows software.

Since the box is waterproof, you need to unscrew the box every time you want to connect the cable and then close it again once you are done.
the Bluetooth is a lot more convenient

I think people just leave cable attached and plug in to laptop under hood when they need but yes cable is cheap option, bluetooth is way more convenient and fun. I've only done bluetooth. The price is confusing though because you think it's 140 but it's really 169. Once you understand that price is split between app which can be reused forever and adapter then it makes sense.
