Use the JB4 to reduce boost a bit in the peak torque range for daily use to preserve the rods.

Jb4 is known to only add torque and not HP, bye bye rods #jb4 #rodsGoFirstWithJb4 #stayStock or BM3 (proper flash)

Torque and horsepower are the same thing measured different ways. There are F90 M5 running low 10s on JB4 only so I'm sure it's adding plenty of horsepower not to mention the dynos they've posted. |

I ran one on my M3 for a few years and never had a single issue, was always consistently fast. It probably depends on what maps you use, what settings you use, whether the JB4 itself is going to safety map to try to correct a tuning issue, and those sorts of details. You just post up a JB4 log of it running fast and another log of it running slow if you have that issue and they can tell you why and how to fix it.

I just picked up my 21 M5 comp yesterday and I have been trying to decide between BM3 and JB4, but hard to find good opinions these days. I even asked several vendors on this board with no response.
Are you guys able to tell me major differences between these two and main things I should be concerned with? Thanks

some updates, now with better E85 using same BM3 OTS 30 + JB4 custom map 6.
60 to 130mph 6.02 10.13@139mph with 1.65 on 60ft Car full weight, all weather tires. Probably could achieve a constant 9sec with better 60f in summer time.

Damn that is impressive! Can you post a jb4 log? I would love to see the boost/afr/timing during a run.
Absolutely incredible when you think it wasn't that long ago where a 9 second car could BARELY be driven to the track and most likely didn't even have an interior . |

Ive had my Jb4 in for about a month now on my M8, on map 1 no issues, i only have BMC filers and secondary cat delete as of now but the car is notably faster.
What issues have owners been seeing?

The trims are the short term Fuel Trims, the DME can raise or lower the air fuel mixture this way, since E85 has less energy density then normal gas due to the ethanol content, the DME will adjust fuel trims to compensate. It only has so much headroom to adjust however. That is why you just want to start with a few gallons and work your way up. E85's ethanol content can vary also (55-85 percent in many states). . |

140 in the quarter for a luxury sports sedan is impressive, especially for so few mods — downpipes, tune plus piggyback, intake and race gas or E85 mix.
No E85 near me and race gas is too expensive to use daily so I will be trying water/meth. Have only JB4 - no DP or tune or intake yet. |
