Great news. It is in the pipeline. I think that makes the waiting even harder.

The audio bit has me thinking. Would be nice to keep it stock and the look. From reading, the DIRAC system seems to be the biz.
Just not really happy with BMW's decision to equip the cheapest possible option.

PDC has been bugging me for some time now. I have had some issues with stuff being left behind my car that I can't see in the mirrors lately. I might just go for it as well. Hell, let's keep this economy alive!

I am curious about your FR decision. I am still on the fence about ordering it without seeing it. What made you decide?

Yeah, I've poo-pood PDC for a long time. But, I realize on those occasions when I parallel parking in a tight spot it is often hard to judge the distance to the car behind me. And, it's cheap. Still not crazy about the buttons on the bumper.

I guess I've seen a couple properly exposed photos where I think I can judge the true color. In so many of them i can tell the photos are overexposed and it looks pink. That, and several current owners saying it's great. I just want sonething livlier than black, gray or beige. I don't like the full extended leather in the red, because of the black cutouts on the dash piece. I may add the console side pieces later.

Pica are all over. I don't care for the 18s, and at $1,200, the 19s are a good buy. The 19s are forged, so probably as light or lighter than the 18s.

They're also on the Ordering Guide cover photo.

I'm not getting the 19's, i don't like the way they look, they look like the wheels are too fat for the tires. YMMV

Yes, FR extended leather doesn't work in my opinion as well. I will look forward to your personal report on the FR once you get it, and to some properly exposed photos that are endorsed by an architect!

Red face Greg, are you keeping your E46? I'm still on the fence.

First off, congrats! I'm usually lurking/posting on the E46 Roadfly page known there as just Phoenix. I'm anxiously awaiting the military sales price, but I really expect them to be in the 50-52K range. We'll see.

Ciao,

Jeff

Why do you like the 18's so much? Is it the weight difference and style of the 18's you like or you just don't like the look of the 19's?

The other question is:

Buying to keep/use the 18's,

or

Buying to save money for aftermarket hell!

Ciao,

Napoli! We were just on the coast near there overlooking Capri (L'Annunziata) for a week last year. Beautiful area! What is your assignment?

I like the look of the wheels, especially with the finish seen on BMWUSA.
Plus, I might go aftermarket, so can save that $1200.

However, OEM 19s will be easy to sell for more than that, compared to the 18s. It was the same with the E46.

Perhaps. I hadn't planned on selling them, but then again, this won't be my DD and I might not have a need for winter wheels.
Still trying to sort it all out...
