My app says the update is ready to install, proceed to the vehicle and follow the instructions. When I'm in the car and I navigate to the software update, it looks like it is frozen. Is there something I need to do to initiate the update in the car or should it be automatic. Thx in advance.

I can't quite believe you guys are also having to anticipate and tolerate these nannyish interferences. I thought only our EU noise regs were militating against burbles, but clearly not! The fact that they sneak such ECU adjustments through the back door (as they did with the M340i in Europe a couple of years ago) is also a bit galling. It's not like these cars sound like Jag F-types; deleting or even subduing the overrun crackles seems like overkill, whichever way you look at it.

I've had a thing recently where sometimes for a short time after start-up I just don't get any pops or burbles when revving. Or even if I drive off and let off in 1st or 2nd gear....just nothing

While I generally try to not give the car a lot of throttle until at least the cold start sound has died down, my car does the exact same thing — especially if I’m not close to operating temperature yet. Only after a bit of warmup do I get pops and burbles. I believe both of my F90s were like this from the very beginning.

I’d say raise this to your dealer, but I can predict about a hundred BS dealership responses they would come up with to this scenario. But no harm in trying (repeatedly, if necessary). Perhaps asks to take a ride with the shop foreman and attempt to replicate.

Got a notification that 11/2023.50 is now available. I can't really find much information on it specific to the M5. Looks like it has been pushed out to other models based on my searches. I haven't yet installed it, and I skipped the last one.
Change logs are notoriously worthless. The stuff everyone wants to know is never shown in the change log. Anyone have an opinion on this update? |

I'm installing the update now. I'll be the Guiney pig for this. The last update irritated me so much when it dramatically reduced the pops and burbles on deceleration that I figured I was probably safe to install the update. If the new update has more downgrade Easter eggs it will be beyond irritating. Hopefully, BMW saw the error of their ways and added the pops and burbles back to their previous levels. I'm not holding out a lot of hope for that but, there's always a chance.

I wonder if yours is kind of excluded just based on locality and the options you have like the laser lights. Yours is unique, and they may just not want to poke the bear with potential issues since it's not like they really have another to test it against.

I got the message yesterday also, but it doesn't show the version number but does give a lot of useless updates it seems like all previous versions.
It shows the version now 112023 50 ETA: completed the update and no lost of the snap crackle and pops, plus no lost of my M1 and M2 setttings. Haven’t checked if it turned off my remote start or not, this update was the most seamless so far. |

This is the first time I've done an update. Are they normally this needy? I couldn't install at first because it said "driving is required." But it didn't want just a short drive. I had to go a good 30 minutes. No clue what it was doing so I gave it a mix of modes and accelerations. After I get back, I think "finally now I can upgrade." Nope. I now have to wait until the car cools off. So I go replace the battery in my beater and come back and start the upgrade. Will edit once finished with anything to note.
