M5 CS vs 991 Turbo S

Car has some serious pull as compared to the old (but still fast AF) Turbo S

Without searching, how does this compare to the 992 Turbo S ?.

Just found it 5.6 secs for comparison, so 0.9 slower than the latest and greatest ?.

Yeah, the 992 S has a 5.7 lb/hp ratio and hence, is in a different stratosphere.

At first glance I thought the post read faster than 911 turbo S. Then I scrolled down and noticed it was 991 turbo s.

There was a guy on here before talking about how his stock 991 turbo ran 9s.

It was upgraded turbo internals, cat delete, meth, Y pipe, and tune but other then that BONE STOCK!

Not sure why some people compare modded cars to stock ones.

Yes, i dont understand why folks would compare modded to standard. Oh yes, its standard, apart from the exhaust, and a tune, oh really ??.

Why compare a four door sedan to a turbo s? Why not a McLaren 720s or Ferrari 812?

Really. But if you are fixated on “standard”....my standard untouched F90 with BMW air in the tires and “as arrived” BMW petrol in the petrol tank was 0.8 seconds slower than my 911 with Porsche air in the tires and Porsche petrol in the tank as both were delivered off the boat. Dealership did clean both cars before testing for full disclosure.

After a stage 1 tune on the F90 on pump fuel it was still 0.40 slower.

After a stage 1 tune on the 911, there was no reason to keep comparing the two for obvious reasons. Both excellent at what they do.

Totally agree.

Anything below Koenigsegg , is just a car when it comes to exotic craftsmanship. Some cost more, some are quicker, some are reliable, some “look” cut, some don’t.....but they are all just basic transportation with exotic aspirations.

If you remap the car, and change the exhaust, you have changed the standard from BMW/Porsche parameters. The M5 CS is how it came from BMW, apart from the petrol, he has put in it. ?

That is why I posted the standard numbers for the 911 and F90, before remap and changes, for reference. Totally understand some do not make changes. I have a F97 that is bone stock, untouched from the factory. Leave some alone, remap others.

If im honest, if it wasnt for the warranty implications, for the first 3 years, i would have mine remapped, just to know, its running at optimum levels, and not compromised by the factory having to use settings that are governed by these rules and those rules .

I'm starting to believe, this is BMW's take on a BMW supercar. The top gear review was strong, the ads had flashes of it over an M1.

Wouldn't a BMW supercar be a sedan?
