Ambient Lighting Coding Expert Mode Walkthrough?
Can anyone do this for me or have a video they can provide that walks through the ambient lighting and what bytes change what and so on?
I've watched a couple videos on a G20 and the guy had managed to code his interior dash/door trim lights to red and the floorboard lights to blue (he changed bronze) and then coded in to replace the blue and white option in iDrive to then be blue dash/door trim lights and red floorboard lights which is ultimately what I'm going for. I understand to values needed to be entered into the bytes for the color needed. However, I don't really understand which bytes need to be changed. Since, at least the way I understand it. Some of the bytes control which ambient lights are changed location wise and based on what bytes you choose will also depend on which color option inside of iDrive it changes. Any info would be appreciated. I'm not sure if many people are very educated or have risked going into Expert mode and messing around with bimmercode but I recently saw this image and LOVED the light layout on the interior. |

Edit: I looked at the Excel sheet he made and it actually simplifies things quite a bit. Edit #2: However I'm still slightly confused because I'm seeing there are bytes for changing colors and bytes for what lights get changed and it's starting to confuse me again hehe Last edited by GriggsyG22; 02-28-2023 at 11:30 AM.. |

I should also add most guides I'm seeing are on G20 series which say to look for a specific coding data section that's labeled with multiple different G20 series and well...having an F90 I did not see an F90 data section when I peaked inside expert mode earlier today |

It just had a look at a cafd from F90 BDC, it looks like it uses the old ambient light mapping.
In BDC look for 3074 LciMasterColor, FC If it has something like this then it uses the old mapping. AMBIENTE_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_1_LAYER_1_R AMBIENTE_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_1_LAYER_1_G AMBIENTE_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_1_LAYER_1_B Im not sure how it looks in bimmercode but i use esys. The thread below is for the old BDC mapping. https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1774268 |

I had my car coded by a local guy. If you’re around NYC I can send you his contact info. He added “M colors” for ambient lighting. I love it. Genius idea if you ask me. Try it out.
