Clunk noise from rear when backing out in the morning?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Every morning as I back out of the garage, I hear a slight clunk or click that seems to come from the rear. I assume it's from the brakes or the differential. Does anyone else have this noise? Just wondering if it's something I should worry about. Not sure I had it before the break-in service.

Thanks!

Do you set the e-brake when you park the car? That could be causing the sound when it disengages. If not, take it to the dealer and have them take a look. Better safe than sorry.

Does this happen when turning your wheel to nearly full lock while getting out of the garage?

I think it's the Ackerman Principle. I get it too when turning in reverse, typically full lock on wheel. It's normal.

I don't use the parking brake in my garage.

Happens backing straight out of the garage within the first or second rotation of the wheels.

Clunk or a metallic pinging sound?

Soft clunk. Almost like something in the trunk tipped over.

I know what you're talking about though. My 911 does that whenever the temperatures drop below 60.

Does this happen after you've washed your car and let it sit for the night? Could be the calipers unseating themselves from the rotors.
