Hi guys. I got a 2018 m5 comp last week when i traded my e class at the MB dealer. See pics attached. One dealer is now telling me that it is NOT a comp and that there was about 32k in mods done by bmw factory?? My question is how can i tell ?? Build show’s original sticker of $118k but doesn’t show performance exhaust, carbon fiber , black kidney grill etc which the car HAS. Car sounds and drives AMAZING
Also — the payoff is about 92k in California if anyone wants it — it is too much car for me haha. 20,3xx miles.

Definetely not a competition.

The lower part of the rear bumper should be painted in black.

(may be that the previous owner has painted the rear bumper to match the body color ?)

You changed your mind in a week, what happened? Also importantly, the Competition package came out in 2019.

Online it says competition came out late in 17 early 18. What else am i looking for? Definitely has the M

Previously the competition didn't come out till the 2019 model. Ive seen this before. Ppl slap a competition badge on non competition models. Its wrong for the dealership to advertise it as a competition. I think you should be able to get your money back from them for false advertising. Doesnt matter if the previous owner added all the things that make the competition model. Its all in the vin and you cant get competition money from it. Definitely go back and demand they take it back(assuming everything your saying is true that they advertised it and priced it as a comp). Good

What are you looking for? Take the VIN # to any BMW dealer and ask if it's a Competition model.
