I saw all sorts of shade thrown on this car in these forums when announced. Why did everybody think the negative? I guess I've only been driving BMW's since 2014 and haven't seen the comings and goings of marketing. I've been nothing but pleased.

But, looks like this baby is the real deal. I am glad.

Stellar review. Wish it was easier to get allocations for those cars, my dealer only got 1 CS for the whole year

It's because we've been fooled many times before with all their limited edition models that were nothing more than just cosmetic shit practically.

Limited editions. Chinese editions. Pseudo-M cars. Other exclusives. The F8xCS. The "competition" models. It's a business, we get it, it's about dollars but past while, up until very recently, it kinda felt like they forgot about the enthusiasts that helped put them on the map.

When they first announced the car they were pretty clear that it was going to be a low production model. I think I saw that only 440 units are coming to the US. Canada only got 25.

As for how many each dealer got, it must be based on prior M Sales and maybe GTS/CS sales. Are you in a smaller market?

The dealership I use got 3 allocations and put in a request for a forth.

I'm in Canada, 25 units total here, yes that would make sense why my dealer only got 1 for the year

To be fair, this isn't how they normally review cars. You might possibly feel differently with their normal channel. This was essentially an in-depth add on to their original review of the CS because there was a vast amount more they wanted to get into. Not everything is for everyone but generally speaking, I feel that they are actually unbiased and they play off each other nicely. I find them to be entertaining and decently accurate about a lot of the vehicles.

Doesn’t change the fact that the gold/bronze trim is an abomination. Give me an Individual F90 over this any day of the week.

"Enthusiasts that helped put them on the map".
That's an unusual statement to make. There is no such thing as that - no one did charity by purchasing something they didn't like in order to support an ideology. A product with certain characteristics found willing buyers. The company emulated the dna that made the product attractive and released variations of the product. This continued pattern when repeated over an amount of time led to a successful brand.

So when you hear "enthusiasts" you think of yourself? Or people way back when when, started purchasing and raving about the sports cars and luxury sports cars that this German company was producing, do you think it was American housewives then who were purchasing BMW's?

It's not much of a stretch to say - "enthusiasts helped put them on the map". In my opinion.
Had someone said only enthusiasts purchase Bmw's, it'd be different.

IMO the CS should be the "standard" for M cars. the fact that this is a limited run is absurd as they mention in the video.

that said I love my M5 comp it's the best all around M car bmw has ever made.

The truth of the matter is if the M5CS was the regular model M5, and all M models were as hard core as this one is, BMW a would sell a lot less cars. The average M buyer would complain how harsh the ride was, or that it doesn't have soft close doors, or the brakes make too much noise, or Why is there no cooled seats or massaging seats.

M is really for marketing, but you gotta understand BMW is in the business of selling cars. I applaud them for even making producing this car in the first place. They really didn't have to.

Who was throwing shade? I remember people were hesitant on the sports seats, but that's about it. Maybe non F90 owners were throwing shade but we weren't. Its an awesome machine!
