Access to rear window vent - broken glass

Not sure if anyone can help me here but my rear window on my 320d has been broken and splinters of glass has entered the vent that runs along the rear window/parcel shelf and I need to get them out. Can't get a vacum cleaner to it and can't see a way of access from the boot from underneath now the new window is in?

Any ideas please on this and anyone know how to get into the 'middle' brake light that touches the window ??

(I know what you are thinking why weren't they removed when the windows was out as this would give excellent access - asked my dealer the same thing!)

The middle brake light detaches. I'm not entirely sure how to do it, but I know it can be done. When windows get tinted, they remove it! Someone at BMW explained it to me last week, he basically said you just CAREFULLY wedge a skrew driver in until it clicks out...but just check before you do anything....

maybe someone could post a diy bit for you?
