That is my understanding ... I read that you can add them as long as its before they land at port, (i'm waiting on final confirmation from my dealer).

Here are a couple they pulled the price on for me -- msrp:

man 880 bucks for side gills? i cant do it! i would have to do all the CF parts so it stayed balanced too.

i wonder how much meaner the exhaust sounds? dunno if id want to drop 7k+ on it tho.

Theres a video of the 2020, im sure its similar... it has CF tips though (love it), so you'd have to get the sides to balance it

I would just check to see time to install by port. I’ve heard long waits and some not so long. Dealer may be quicker getting them on. Also no worries of damage during transport if dealer installed. Just something to think about.

I heard that if you get them done at the port, then they are included in the car warranty vs at the dealer they arent. Do you know if thats true?

I went for a few pieces though, im on the fence with the exhaust ... i love the look and the sound of it.

Great question. I just texted a friend that is a manager at a MB dealer. They put on a lot of stuff on AMG cars. When I here back I’ll let you know.

I would think the parts have a warranty. If carrier damages they would have to cover, but obviously if they are made part of your factory warranty if done at the port that’s something to think about.

I know sometimes that VPC doing the work can hold a car up sometimes for weeks. This COVID is already slowing delivery times down from the VPC due to several reasons including lack of transportation. My dealer said some cars are taking two weeks or more from the VPC in Baltimore to Columbus, Ohio.

He just got back. He’s thinks both are covered, port and dealer, as long as they are genuine accessories.

I had Porsche put my Kline exhaust on my 991.2 turbo s just to protect my warranty. When I traded all was good they gave me no issue at all even through certifying the car.

Looked into an exhaust for my 720s spider, but just kept sports exhaust from factory on. Even if you have a dealer install, mclaren will flag your car. They don’t play around with certain mods.

Just wonder if there is a difference if you have dealer/port install exhaust opposed to an aftermarket install for BMW. Might be worth the extra money in the end.

We’ve seen on this forum the story of the guy going beyond the 1200 M car service. Seems like BMW left him high and dry. Just something to think about.

There was a thread floating around confirming the lower blades black order is the carbon fiber ones.
But don't take my word for it. I'm just praying it's the right order. Won't know until the car comes!!

You want all accessories to be installed at the port. They will list them on the window sticker if installed there and you can residualize them if you are leasing. Also a better chance they will be installed correctly. If the dealer installs them, you can't residualize them and you also have to pay for labor in addition to the cost of the parts. The full factory warranty is the same if the dealer installs them.

They do a really good job at the port installing these mods. They do so many.
