I've used them front/back for 5 track days and have them on for commute work as well. Not noisy at all on the street, very livable. On the track they perform nicely, good bite, reasonable resistance to fade. I have castrol SRF and stoptech SS lines in. The other day my front rims got hot enough to melt the rondel center caps (I forgot to take them out, live and learn) and the brakes had minimal fade. What this car really needs is brake ducts. I just removed the dust shields from the inside of the rotors. Hoping that helps with rotor cooling. I think the Ferodo's are worthy of trying. This was the most aggressive pad I could find thus far that does not sound like a school bus during normal driving.

I will never again let a set of Hawk pads get near my car. Never. I tried a set of HT10s on the front at the Glen today (as those were the only pads available to me after my RS19s wore thin). They scored both rotors pretty much across the entire pad surface--several deep grooves. They faded big time and I missed a turn (no damage done). After I took them out in the paddock, the pad material literally broke loose of the back plate. Yes, the pad disintegrated in my hands (there was plenty of compound left--around 6mm I'd say). I will call them and complain. I don't want to even think about what would have happened if the pad had fallen apart like that at the bus stop at 150mph...

I don't have any experience with PFCs, but I'll try a set when they come out as folks seem to be full of praise for them.

I never had track problems with HP+ on my e46 and other friends used them too.
I ordered the Ferodo and they should be fine since they have a higher temp than the hp+.

BTW, how many track days did you get out of the BFG R1s you got last year?

I'll be running the DS-2500 Ferodos this weekend at WGI. I'll report back as soon as I know anything.

I was lazy last weekend and left the DS2500s on the rear, stock back on the front (replacing HT10s). No noise on the street. I just halved my track prep time

I have heard of the Hawk issues before - they are common. I think it may be related to how hard you're braking.
I'd go with a Carbotech xp10 or xp12 for the track! Cant find a better pad. |

I took about 2/3rds of the useful life out of the DS-2500s at Watkins Glen this weekend. I overheated them a bit on several occasions. Took me two full days to really knock the cobwebs loose as far as my driving skill goes. But it was clear by the second day that I couldn't just pound on the brakes and expect them to last. I think a consensus is developing that brake cooling is needed in these cars.
The pads were ok in my mind once I had them fully bedded. They did show some slight signs of crumbling, but I think this a function of my overheating them. |

The DS2500 has a pretty low MOT, they are not really track pads. OK for the rear. Aside from that, I agree with everyone that the car needs cooling...it's 4K lbs for gods sake.

Just waiting for the folks at Performance Friction to answer my prayers. The Ferodos were the only option I could find that offered front and rear pads that I could get on short notice.
