I'm thinking of going back to an SUV, but keeping the trusty M5 for a couple reasons. First - I just can't seem to part with it. It's just so much fun. Second - and this is where your thoughts are coveted - as the last fully ICE version of the M5, I'm thinking maybe there's some long-term value there?

What say you?
I’ve been driving SUVs because of poor roads for years, got back into an m5 and now im only using the SUV for space. I drive the m5 everywhere, I get better mileage and range and have more fun while I’m at it.

That being said I’d always advocate adding to the collection if it provides a different experience and use case.

Driven it about 3k miles now no issues.

With bad roads, I would choose 19” wheels and a 18-20 base or 21-23 comp or base. Anything to avoid the SUV. But if you must have an SUV, a Cayenne Turbo is pretty good as are the GTS or S if with air suspension, and don’t run the 22” wheels. The X5M is known for a rough ride.

Engine oil - Yearly or every 10,000 miles
Cabin air filter - Every other oil change or 20,000 miles
Engine air filter - Every 3rd oil change or 30,000 miles
Spark Plugs - Every 3rd oil change or 30,000 miles
Front &rear diff fluid - Every 5th oil change or 50,000 miles
That doesn't quite stack up in my case because they did plugs at last oil change. I think the intervals are different here in the UK. I will check the manual when I get a chance

2019 M5...48,000 fabulous miles only problem the ubiquitous coolant tank.
Just swapped it for another one...2023 comp with 4k miles.

I have a ‘21 LCI, and have 70,000 miles. Car is flawlessly maintained and, quite frankly, flawless.
