9 months (and 15 years later) it's here!
Almost exactly 15 years after picking up my first M car (an E46 M3 in Titanium Silver/Imola Red interior), I met my second M, a '19 M5 Competition in Azurite Black and Tartufo Brown interior.
It's been a 9-month journey that started with an '18 order in April that changed to a '19 in June, then stalled in an Individual order waitlist for 4 months, got shipped stateside, before a second wait of 2 months at port for the port-installed winter tire-wheel option (I got the summer forged wheels shipped separately). I think there's a silver lining to this wait considering BMWFS blinked first and improved their residuals by the time I got to pick up the car Earlier today, I picked up the car, and the Azurite's blue was amazing to behold. It's a sublime flavor of black and really goes with the Tartufo's deep brown hues. And, it got a big seal of approval from my two ladies in my life This first moment with the M5 brings back great memories of my meeting with the E46 M3 for the first time back in 9 Jan 2004. I added a couple of iPhone shots and hope to add better ones soon. Kudos to everyone on this forum for your insights, advice and interesting content. I learnt about so many topics and could feel the positive vibes and energy. It's been a great 9-month online course in M-performance Happy and safe driving! |

Congrats. I also went from an E46 M3 (13 years) to the M5. You had a little more patience than me. I was tempted by an in-stock M5.

Congrats, My first test drive in an F90 was in a Azurite Black with Aragon Full leather that I loved and tried to buy but couldn't make a deal. I ended up with a Comp in MBB from a different dealer. That car is still available. They've had it almost three months now!

Beautiful car and certainly worth the wait; there's nothing better than receiving the exact car you want.
Enjoy in good health brother!!

Nice welcome to the F90 M5 competition club!!.......I always used modified BMWs as a daily driver...my first was a modded manual 1993 325is then a manual E39 M5, DCT F10 M5 and now a 19 MBB M5 Competition.......never have I been so impressed with the build quality and overall premodded package of an ///M BMW.....the E39 M5 was great but only after a long list of major modifications...was not impressed with the F10 at all

Congrats! I had a similar story, my first M was also an E46 SMG! Nice color combo and the wheels actually look good, don’t see the 19s often, but am sure the 20s will, look better.

Looking very nice, I had Azurite Black X5M and that color will change on light so much.
Can you make some pictures from inside?

I use Lexol conditioner. It works great. I make a habit of getting a couple coats on while the car is new. It protects against scuffing and cracking. If you park in the sun, the conditioner will protect the leather dash as well.
Your car looks beautiful. |

Congrats on a great ride! That Azurite was a toss up for me - I just couldn't find a live example and the pics show so many variations. Some of the shots with sunlight are just out of this world. More interior AND exterior shots please!

Nice. And I remember M3Forum pretty fondly. Doesn't seem to be as active anymore. I do miss my M3 sometimes. Maybe I really miss the manual transmission the most.
