2021 M5 Stop sale
My car got stuck at the port with the stop-sale due to "radio remote control M sport." Based on what I've been told, it has something to do with programming.
Is there anyone else who has the same issue? |

With your username, care to venture a guess what might underlying software or hardware issue we’re dealing with? What could be driving this - changing regulation (less likely?) or the introduction of a new component that requires different software (more likely?)? Genuinely curious |

How hard is it to get replacement keys for an M5? Also, does M5 come with display key? If it does, we can take delivery with that key and get replacement conventional keys at a later date… is that correct? |

For what it’s worth - this is the 2nd time in a row that this happens to me - ie delayed delivery on a new BMW. Last fall our X7 was delayed by a good week for a safety recall. They had to ... wait for it ... replace the stickers with the tire pressure inside the driver’s door. Have a great long weekend all. Here’s to hoping this gets resolved next week and we can take delivery |

Pretty sure BMW keys need to come from Germany, but they expedite the shipment to the dealer, but that’s for one key.
Anyone know how many thousands of cars x2 keys are affected? |

If anyone is affected by this it's definitely worth the wait to get the keys replaced. The issue is even more concerning if you have street parking at your home.

It sucks, but It's definitely worth it. We waited for so long, and another few weeks is not going to make a huge difference.
At least that's what I keep telling myself...🧐 It should be a good amount, but I don't think it is more than a couple of thousands because it is just m5, 5, and 7 series produced in the span of 3 weeks. That would be my guesstimate. |
