I've been driving this X5M Competition since late June and I drive a lot so the 15000km (Close to 10000 miles) I've done so far is a lot less than normal because I'm working from home because of Corona. I believe this is one of the very first F95 in Sweden. It's Carbon black and loaded, the only thing I miss is RSE. The car is produced in February, so it is an early build.
I'm coming from a 2019 X5 M50d G05. It was Mineral white and had a lot of M-performance parts. It was special. Quite often people took pictures of it when I was out driving. I did 60000 km in that car in less than a year. I have never seen anyone take o picture of my X5MC and my family actually liked the M50d better than the X5MC. The X5MC is actually a sleeper compared to that M50d. There is a huge difference between the cars. The M50d is a diesel so the torque is crazy, but I really like the V8 in X5MC. You can really feel the extra 225 hp. It is much quicker. Fuel consumption is almost 40% higher. Sound. The neighbors have complained on the sound the X5MC does during cold start. It's loud. And it's great. But when the engine is hot, and you turn off the exhaust sound it is really a very quiet car. I testdrove a X6 M50i before a got the X5MC and the M50i was louder than the X5MC with exhaust sound turned on. The M50i had some pops and bangs and the X5MC doesn't have that at all. In my opinion the X5MC could be a little bit louder. My M50d hade air suspension and it was fantastic. Super smooth and you could easily lover the car. The X5MC has a crazy large wheelgap and I really wish there was an easy way of lowering the car. The seats in M50d were great but the seats in X5MC is fantastic. Love them. Both cars had night vision. In Europe it flashes the high beam to warn and you could not turn it off in the M50d. When I drove in the city it constantly kept flashing pedestrians on the sidewalk and I got a lot of middelfingers but in the X5MC you can turn it off and even set the sensibility. Works great now. I got 5 sets of keys with the X5MC. Standard key, Display key, Keycard, activity key and an emergency key. This is the best car I have ever had. I Love it!

Congratulations, beautiful car. I have rode in a friends diesel and you are right, lots of torque. I actually questioned weather his X5 was faster than mine. It felt like it was. How does the suspension compare to the M50d? Im sure the X5MC is stiffer but is it a big difference? Have you ever felt like you couldn't live with the harsher ride?

Thanks for your review!
What about your rear row passengers? What are they thinking about suspension and comfort at all? Last edited by FSB; 10-05-2020 at 07:01 AM.. |

Would also love to know what you think on ride and handling - I'm coming from a 7-seat F15 M50d which has coil front and air rear suspension and would love to know what differences you are feeling between your M50d and X5M. I too love the Torque of the M50d - it quite suits an X5 - but the X5M power must be addictive! |
