Only after BMW gave 0.9% financing on the M2 CS and it won multiple "car of the year" awards, is it now selling in the US for 20k over MSRP used. Those cars still languish in the EU. Same thing is happening with the M5 CS. M5/M5C buyers don't seem interested, sports car buyers probably won't chose this over a 911 Turbo and new cars available. Hard to figure out who the market is for this car. |

I can't remember the exact cause, but yes, it is accurate.

I presume M5 Comps built for North America were never equipped with OPFs so the reduction likely comes from elsewhere. |

I can only speak for myself but these high-end cars (regardless of make) and the price we are willing pay are about emotion not just capability. Having a unique limited run special edition is worth it to me from the moment I open the door. |

It's crazy, I got a quote on a new M5 Comp, Tech Pack, Comfort Plus Pack, M Pro pack with Carbons, laser lights and it was £93,495, or £87,795 without the carbons, so about £23k discount, the M5 CS they won't do any discount on, so looking at around £55k extra if you don't want the carbons or £49k extra if you want the carbons. Crazy pricing, I can't see them selling out in the UK, I expect discounts to be happening fairly soon, or everyone will just go for the Ultimate Pack with a huge discount and save £40k. A fully optioned Ultimate Pack M8 is working out much cheaper than the M5 CS and it's a more expensive list car...

Don't forget removed sound insulation material for additional weight savings.
I have to say the CS does not make sense to me. Compared to the Comp it has reduced utility (no fold down rear seats, only 4 seats vs. 5, no self driving, no center console storage) and reduced comfort (no upgraded stereo, increased road noise from removed sound insulation, no massage seats, no ventilated seats). The M5 Comp is a great road trip and long distance cruising car. The CS takes away much of what contributes to that utility. At the same time, the CS does not make sense as a dedicated track car. I suppose the CS works as a daily commuter for shorter commutes, say 30 to 45 minutes, with occasional family hauling for weekend errands. The CS would have much broader appeal if BMW had left in all the stuff that makes the Comp such a great cruiser while adding another level of performance. |

then i explained how i tried to replicate one and tried to soothe myself by adding the pewter accents arenf the best I however don't understand why they would do red calipers on the CS instead of a unique to the CS color. Specially since they're doing the red calipers on all the other non-M 5ers |

i think the m5 looks best in comp pack and black.. and that's what i ordered My actions and beliefs are in harmony, not dissonance. 'justifying my actions/beliefs' would have been the correct analysis But that didn't sound as intelligent as you using the word 'cognitive dissonance' nevermind you not knowing when to use it lmao |
