What's all involved with the install? Do you have to drain the coolant, remove anything major, or do anything special?

The coolers and charge pipes are all one piece – we can do red powder-coating of the whole system.

My car is not as built as the one in the video so I wonder if I will see the same gains. Running stage 2 DME tune with full FBOs (Eventuri intake, KP downpipes, Akra exhaust) and if I pair this with meth will I see some healthy gains?

Yes you will - our F10 coolers have proved to lower IATs with and w/o meth being used. In comparison, these coolers are substantially bigger in size ratio compared to the F10 version vs. OEM.

We're very excited about this new product

The last of our pre-orders are out the door – Can’t wait to see these as they start to get installed on cars.

First 35 kits SOLD OUT but we just got another 20 sets yesterday – They’re already off to powder coating to fill the rest of our backorders + give us some stock for some more custom colors!

This set that we paint-matched to BMW's Fire Orange is one of our favorites. Another client of RK Autowerks

Two pre-orders opted to take advantage of the additional benefits of CSF’s exclusive Thermal Dispersion Coating – proven to protect from excess engine bay heat.

• Space Grey w/ Thermal Dispersion (this item is for sale - slide into our DM's if you're interested - no wait time)
• Arctic Black w/ Thermal Dispersion

Slide into our DM's or contact a dealer of ours to get a set going for your M5/M8 or new X5M/X6M. Custom powdercoated finishes, hydro-dipping, and thermal coatings available for an additional cost.

Did anyone ever outline what the install looks like? I searched but never found anything so kind of gave up on the idea.

haven't seen any DIY and i doubt any shop will post one as it would directly affect their potential business. With that said its just a handful of hoses and clamps and maybe a couple bolts. They sit right up top so shouldn't be too complicated. Just need to drain the cooling, remove, install, refill cooling.

I think there is a F 10 diy but the main complicated part is to Drain the cooler

For everyone asking about installation, below is an overview of the install process for our F10 Charge Coolers (very similar)

Plus a video from Evolve Automotive:

Takes an hour tops.

1. Loosen charge pipes - if aftermarket slide the front couplers all the way back onto the charge pipe. If OEM need to remove them
2. Remove the 4 charge coolant hoses at the IC's. Pull clip (not all the way off.. just pull out) and yank on the hoses. Remove charge expansion tank cap to help drain fluid
3. Remove whatever intake you have (to gain access). If you have stock boxes they have to come off completely
4. Remove the two overflow connectors on the top of the IC's
5. Unplug the TMAP sensor harness
6. Loosen the hose clamp holding IC to the intake manifold
7. Remove the IC clamp bolt (torx) at the mounting bracket (near alternator... one for each side)
8. Unplug the Emissions valve (hose coming from intake manifold) and its mounted with a bracket onto the IC on each side... just unscrew the bracket nothing else
9. Pull IC toward you (front of the car) while yanking up. Can wiggle it out... once it comes off, need to unplug the throttle body harness connector (each side)
10. Swap throttle bodies (change gaskets if you need) - use M6 x 1.0 45mm bolts (can't re-use the OEM ones)
11. Install is the reverse process. On pass side need to remove the oil-feed cap and nozzle completely (two torx bolts... easy). Given the upgraded IC's are bigger, its easier if charge pipes are removed
12. Tighten everything... double check... fill coolant/water into the charge cooling expansion tank.
13. Start car... check for leaks etc. Once warmed up, double-check the charge cooling expansion tank and add more fluid as needed!
14. Done!

I haven't done the install yet, but looking at TIS, it seems a lot more involved that what you've mentioned and seems like it'll take way more than 1 hour.
This is the TIS documentation, covering the Removal only.

Any literature on the heat dispersion coating? I am interested but curious as to why it would not be retaining heat as well. I am trying to figure out the coating i want. Thank you in advance.
