The Straight Pipes - BMW M5 CS Review - Car of the year? Maybe!

2022 BMW M5 CS review by The Straight Pipes. The BMW M5CS is putting down 627 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque from a 4.4L Twin Turbo v8. At $170,800 CAD, would you take it over the AMG E63s, Porsche Panamera Turbo, Audi RS7, Audi RS6, BMW M5 or M5 Competition?

Based on my experience with both new AMG E63S Wagon and this car, I'm surprised they're review wasn't more enthusiastic. I believe the impractical elements finished their excitement.

I think the real benefits vs the M5/M5C are more pronounced on the track, which Throttle House did a great review on where it beat the M2CS.

I drove my M5C form New York to Chicago. I can't picture myself doing that in the CS seats. I think as a daily, they are even recommending the regular M5 or M5C towards the end of the video.

Just watch the Throttle House review, so much better. This one just drags despite being less than 20-minutes.

It's very difficult to say anything negative about this car, and I did prefer the TH review.

Thanks for sharing!

I actually had a trip from LA to SF and back on my friends new M3 two weeks ago. The bucket seats are actually really comfortable, much more than his old C63s with the bucket AMG seats as those were like sitting on a rock. The only downside is sometimes the groin holder gets in the way if you sit a certain way, but other than that its really good for a mid framed person thats 6ft

With such limited quantities, it's a bit of a mute point if this is so much better than a competition. I wouldn't want one with those impractical rear seats - maybe they could have made them optional - but the general view is that the suspension changes have made a decent difference.

The rear seats are not impractical (they are easy to get into and out of and also more comfortable than the fronts. The front seats are impractical.

For a large car that can only take two in the back, I think that makes them impractical, especially if your passengers are a little on the large side, AKA eaten too many pies.

Having sat in them (when the CS was on display at Goodwood), they are not that easy to get in and out of and no, I haven't eaten too many pies.

That M seat is hardly anything to scoff at, this is a real PITA bolster. I tipped my tint guy well after that one.

This is a stupid idea. But how crazy would it be if the bolster closest to the door lowers down when the door is opened. Or possibly swivels out. The bolsters already has a motor in them for adjusting.

Where is the big, droopy grille? Why is the M5 missing out on what bmw considers a design advancement from the old "dated" front?

The bolster should've been 1/2" inch lower.

How does anyone enjoy anything Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan present? They can barely drive!

Over time, I've filtered out a number of the YouTube presenters that have become either too pretentious or just downright annoying and unwatchable, including Straight Pipes. I more or less stick just to the following now:

- Throttle House
- Savage Geese
- Carfection
- Harry's Garage
- Autotrader (w/ Rory)
- Autogefuhl
